Budinger played volleyball and basketball at Arizona. He also competed in the 2012 Slam Dunk Contest. He's a very impressive leaper for a vanilla wafer.
Easily dunking over P Diddy
Almost smashing his face on the rim
Or just his top 10 dunks

Actually I like getting another pick in the second and going for CJ Leslie. A good option to develop and see if he can eventually start. Has good tools to work with andhas a strong chance to pan out like Leonard for the Spurs...

Mike Dunleavy is an intriguing guy no one mentions, especially if we end up w a SF in the draft. Wouldn't mind him splitting time w a rookie.
Even if we draft a guy, we will still need to sign one as well. Barnes, Morrow, Wright, Dunleavy should be cheap

the best option for sf this summer will be drafting one other than porter or trading for one. wilson chandler.

Kyle "I'm using a fake ID to buy alcohol because I look like I'm 12 years old" Korver would be a much better option.

Yep. He would be a solid pick up- can create some and hit the three. Korver is another guy who would be a good pick up that people dont talk about here.
Unfortunately, they are like all the other options (save Iguodala),-more rotation players than starters. Blending Dunleavy, Korver, whomever with a rookie or perhaps Aminu seems like the most likely path.
Not exciting, but it could work.

Exactly my thoughts as I survey the landscape.

I say draft a SF, and then trade for a PG like Eric Bledsoe

I am all for getting Marion and 13th from Dallas. Marion is a nice asset for one year.
Posted on 6/15/13 at 9:45 am to Toula
If we do that then you can basically say tank for Wiggins or Parker
Posted on 6/15/13 at 9:58 am to Whodatforlife21
No it's not an automatic tank. People underestimate how much our young guys can develop over one year. This team will be better next year even if we don't make many moves (barring any serious injuries). Adding a veteran like Marion for one year will be a temporary upgrade at sf and he will add a veteran presence.

Trading for Marion might be the best play. They can get a win now piece and something for down the line, but I think that has to be a draft day deal.
Say they grab Len at 6 and then Dallas picks MCW (can insert different players in this hypo- whomever you fancy). Pels have some leeway to move Vasquez and/or Lopez if they want or they could keep them.
Vasquez/MCW
Gordon/Rivers
Marion/Miller
Davis/Anderson/Smiht
Lopez/Len
FA is effectively over this year, but so what? This crop is mediocre. The big additions are internal for this team (healthy EG, progression from the rookies and first year starters)
They will have Marion coming off the books for 2014. And you still have Davis, Rivers, MCW, and Len all on rookie deals.
Have to get our cap guys to correct me, but I'm guessing, very roughly, that the payroll would be around $40million going into next summer. Obviously, they have to account for a Davis max, but still some room to play with.

Yeah we would just be over 40 mil
Im OK with this scenario if it happens
Marion can still play well and would be an upgrade over what we had.

Plus if we wanted someone at the deadline he would be a good trade asset to a team looking for an expiring contract

For those that think Marion's washed up, last year's numbers say otherwise. He's basically an older, more experienced version of Aminu.
He produced a 16.8 PER while limiting opposing SFs to a 15.6 PER and was even more effective at PF with 20.1 vs 15.2 LINK
His overall PER was 18 and although he's not a good 3 pt shooter, his eFG was 53%. He's also a very good rebounder although not as good as Aminu. Looking over his stats, older, more effective Aminu just screams out. That's not a terrible guy for a stop gap and who knows, it might actually help Aminu figure out how to play better since Marion is a quasi all star. You'd still probably want to bring in another wing shooter, but getting #13 for Marion would not be as horrible as many of you think it would be.

I don't think I can handle 82 games of watching Marion shoot the ball.
Posted on 6/15/13 at 11:18 am to Gtothemoney
Better than watching 82 games of Aminu starting. Besides, Marion shot 51% last year
