This is such a lazy take. Why would Gayle sell the team when she's making profits every year? That's like telling Todd Graves to sell Canes because his store on Siegen is doing poorly. Idiotic take

I would love for someone to buy both teams and keep them local, I just don't see this happening.

If the plan is to sell local and keep the teams here then do it now.

If the plan is to sell the teams and relocate then I'd rather Gayle do it now > continue to produce mediocre teams only to sell a few years from now.

Both roads lead to Gayle selling. Currently the Pels/ Saints are worth more than ever while morale is as low as ever. Seems like the best time IMO.

If we can't sell local now then we probably aren't selling local 5-10 years from now.

Why can’t she sell some of the team? I’ve said it before, go get cp3 as hc, future gm, but give him share rights instead of salary. He has 8 years understanding of the org, 2 different owners, took us the furthest.

He’s an a-hole who is goal oriented. I believe he will be great at executive level, after time coaching.
Go get him and pay him 3 years. Let him go if he doesn’t want to stay.

It warms my heart to see what has sadly been my view for years.

Gayle is incompetent and so far out of her league as an owner, many now want the teams gone so they can compete and thrive.

What an awful feeling, but it’s the only way.

Sell and move the teams.

I said a few years ago, both New Orleans franchises are doomed until Benson dies.

Gayle is 78. Let's face it here. There's obviously going to be some movement in ownership in the next decade-ish That's why this Joe Dumars thing is going to be SOOOOOO much more damaging. Mickey Loomis and Dennis Lauscha seem completely in the weeds. Everything has passed them by at this point and bringing in Dumars is going to put this team on the fricking ground level bottom.

When Gayle dies, both teams could potentially be the lowest valued franchises in the NBA and NFL. Think about that for a second. Every billionaire in the country will be on notice.

I've beat this drum before but it bears repeating every once in a while. Each team will be sold to different people, and those people are going to use the Smoothie King and the Superdome as reasons to move. That's why these continuous band-aids on the facilities are just throwing money into the toilet. The new owner of the Saints will demand a new football arena within a year of purchase. And I can't even imagine what is going to happen then.

Hopefully this allows Todd Graves to get both for a song

I think we've seen the last bit of success from both Pelicans and Saints. This might be the easiest owner to override. People like Loomis and Green should be nowhere near the positions they are currently in. One guy has no idea how to build a football team, and the other wouldn't be able to coach the dream team. Even if you got rid of Gayle, good luck keeping the teams in New Orleans with someone who actually wants to win.

A new arena doesn’t fix the population decline or businesses fleeing the area in droves. It doesn’t fix the potholes, flooding, inability to get home insurance, etc.

The Saints will eventually have to leave, the question is when or will it be in our lifetimes. But make no mistake, major pro sports in NOLA is on borrowed time.

Lazy takes do not get stickied around here. Like it or not the Pels are on life support in this market.

Pro franchises will never go for a song. Graves will have to match any bid they aren’t selling to low bidder.

If Graves is the only one committed to keeping the team in New Orleans, he may get a discount.

It won’t work here either. NHL players wouldn’t want to live here and can you imagine Oschner doctors trying to diagnose injuries on ice?

Yeah Gayle and her executors strike me as the type to take 40% less than market value to keep them in NOLA. Very naive for a shite market.
