Picks have become too devalued. The irony is that we can really reverse that trend by getting some more high picks from the Lakers and demonstrating that collecting picks and drafting well is a path to success.

Yeah if we ever wanted to make a godfather offer, we could do so and still have a lot of draft capital left

JV / Jaxson / Kira / DG + picks is the only trade id be willing to accept.

BI in a nets jersey while KD leaves Nola after the next season makes me want to commit genocide

I'm really curious what ends up happening with Ayton this offseason. He's a wildcard, in that what happens with him really alters what kind of offer that Phoenix can make for Durant

BI is a no deal for 99% of pels fans.

Idgaf who is the better player CURRENTLY. BI has been a leader of our team, embraces the city, and has tons of potential.

I'd rather root for a team of hardworking young guys than gutting this team for a bitch boy afraid of the grind.

Theres a whole lot of lack of movement on so many fronts that I have to believe that there is a lot of stuff brewing behind the scenes from a lot of teams that all are tied up in the Durant/Kyrie situation. Including why no one has tried to sign Ayton to a deal or why James Harden, who is waiting to sign to help Morey and Philly out, is still just lingering out there. Why a number of rookies, including our own, remain unsigned.

Agreed

I said it in the other thread, but I actually would be willing to give up something like 8 picks on the condition of

1.) BI goes NOWHERE(Zion and CJ also)

2.) KD signals strongly he is truly bought in and our FO is confident in his medicals and willingness to grow with this team.

Use the 8 picks to create Griff's magnum opus of complex trade deals and get the Nets what they want and leave us as whole as possible in terms of matching salaries.

Durant for JV, Graham, Hayes and Lewis plus some picks works in the Trade Machine.

If the Nets wanted BI they would have to attach some picks to KD to get him but I would still say no :)

Why do we continue to talk about Durant? He’s not coming here he would demand a trade in a week. We have built a nucleus that can win now and years into the future why frick with it for a malcontent 34 year old whiny bitch? We have a star already at his position in Ingram who is a decade younger. This is nonsense.

Obviously we’d talk to Durant and see if he’d want to join us if we actually had a chance at getting him

Because clearly we have made serious explorations into trading for him.

Scoop isnt the first to mention us reaching out.

We reportedly sought permission to let Willie go speak to him to gauge his interest and give him a sales pitch.

And how would he mix with CJ, BI and Zion? There’s o ly one ball to go around and he’s going to demand the large share of those touches. I just think this is crazy to blow up all the draft assets or young players we have developed for a guy who has gotten tired of every place he has played and forced his way out. He would poison the chemistry to this team.

I'm largely with you unless our team is 100% confident in his reassurances and it doesn't cost any of our core.

But we did literally see how it would go with Durant on the Warriors with Curry/Klay/Dray/Iggy.

We'd be unstoppable if healthy and KD's game is such that he can play within any system and off anyone, then if a possession breaks down, you have one of the all time greatest iso scorers to dump the ball to.

KD is a stud. But I really hope our front office sees the potential it has with the current main core we have. That along with the war chest of picks we have will make this MID MARKET team formidable for years. Zion having a great team around him is gonna make us unstoppable on offense. When him, BI, and CJ are in at the same time, my goodness. BI's 3 point shot will be wide open and he will get back to that 38-40% clip IMO to go with CJ and TM3 getting looks. Zion will finally have an really good open lane to work with now that we have this group around him.

Say no to KD for BI, MR GRIFFIN. 24 years old and just getting STARTED!

Pels: KD

Nets: Kira/ Graham/ TM3/ Hayes/ Val/ Temple/ Naji

2023 Lakers swap
2024 Bucks swap
2024 Pels pick
2024 Lakers pick
2026 Bucks swap
2026 Pels pick
2027 Bucks pick
2028 Pels pick
2029 Pels swap
2030 Pels pick

We keep CJ/ Herb/ BI/ Zion/ Jose/ Nance/ DD.

They get a whole core of players and 6 picks + 4 swaps over the next 8 seasons.

To get Durant without giving up your big 3 you’re talking about something like Herb, Trey, Nance, Graham (only to help match contracts) and at least 3 firsts probably 4. I’m just not hitting my depth and my war chest of future picks for a no doubt hall of fame player that is 34 with injuries and a lot of miles on his legs. Father Time is undefeated. Will he be the same player in just 2 years? It’s just too big of a gamble.

A healthy Durant with CJ, BI and a healthy Zion wins you a championship. Our current core helps us compete eventually for a championship.

I just want to point out that you can’t have KD, Zion, BI, and CJ and they all play to their full potential.
Say KD and Zion average 25, Bi might get 20 at the absolute most and CJ would be lucky to get to 15. That’s not ideal for any of those 4. Zion should be averaging 30 with his efficiency. KD at 25 is weak for him.

You just can’t keep BI in this scenario, and I without a doubt would not trade BI and picks for KD.
I don’t want KD, and had you asked me this in January my answer would have been much much different.

You could substitute Herb for any of those 4 into the lineup and it makes the team better. This isn’t nba2k.
