The Nets are high if they think we are giving up a franchise cornerstone in Ingram, a key leader in Nance aaaaand picks.

I know they have to aim high, but they are straight up HIGH as a frickin chimney right now if that is their ask.

I would be pissed if it was KD for BI and a first.

1 first?

KOC in his recent piece thinks it would closer to 8 firsts + BI.

LINK

Which I think is crazy, but Gobert also fricked everything up and no way the Nets accept less than a significant bump up from what the TWolves gave up

For salary purposes, we would have to send out BI, CJ, or JV.

I did it without including any of those (or Jones and Zion).

It's the same framework of the Gobert trade. Just need more players and picks..

The Nets will want players that can win in addiction to picks.

Rockets own their draft picks so they literally can't tank.

We have picks to trade but that won't be enough

I think the Nets have had a rude awakening of what KD's value actually is.

No one is offering them a bag, if they were it would be done.

No one that Durant would agree to go to are going to mortgage their entire future with a huge package for this dude.

You do realize that BI is infinitely more valuable that Patrick bev right?

BI on the trade market fetches 4 or 5 unprotected firsts.

Nets won't trade him then.

They own his rights for 4 more years. If they don't get the massive haul they want, they just won't trade him.

Really that simple.

I agree, which is what I have been saying since the trade request was made.

Not going to happen.

I've been busy with work but I've been thinking about making a thread about how Griffin fricked up the NBA with the AD trade and how that becoming a precedent has been amplified with this Gobert deal. It's literally not sustainable.

There are going to be too many teams holding too many picks in upcoming drafts. Take us. We don't have roster spots for our 2nd rounder THIS year. How many teams are left with enough picks to even consider that kind of move? All the ones holding all these 1sts, other than us, are rebuilding. KD means nothing to them.

Griffin fricked the NBA? Are you dumb? AD fricked new orleans and forced his way out. Thank frick Griffin built a franchise around that trade.

Bev was filler

quote:

Timberwolves get: Rudy Gobert

Jazz get: Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Leandro Bolmaro, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, 2023 first-round pick (unprotected), 2025 first-round pick (unprotected), 2027 first-round pick (unprotected), 2029 first-round pick (top-five protected)

Wolves(stupidly) gave up two young prospects in Kessler, Vanderbilt, a solid role player with some upside left, Pat Bev, and 4 first rounders for friggin Gobert.

Bi is better, yes, but BI + 1 pick and filler is unlikely to get it done.

“Even if they gave up 8 firsts”

I think he was just trying to illustrate we technically can do this, whereas other teams can’t. And we would still have 5 picks left which is more what other suitors even currently have.

I don’t think he was actually putting the price tag at BI and 8 firsts. He was just showing we could runaway and win the “KD Sweepstakes” if we truly did want to go all in.

There isnt a single player in that trade aside from gobert that is worth more than a first. BI would fetch 4 and a salary match. If the Nets want BI AND 5 picks they can go frick themselves.

We're not going to send out six players for one guy and then sign a bunch of minimum guys off the scrap heap. That's not a recipe for success.

The Wolves just did 5. None of the players are a starter. That's 4 1st round guys from the last 4 drafts. We could easily grab 3 more minimum guys to fill out the roster..

Yeah if we ever wanted to make a godfather offer, we could do so and still have a lot of draft capital left

I'm not disagreeing here, just stating that the Nets aren't gonna settle.

I'm of the mind that BI at all is a no deal.
