Interesting, the source for the rumor is a Bullets blogger LINK A little more authoritative than the OP's friend, no offense to the OP or his friend.

I have to believe there is a team making a run that would like to add Sandy for an expiring. Indy comes to mind immediately, but I am sure there are others.

Not even a consideration. They like what they are getting from Lance Stephenson and need some of the cap space Gordon would take to resign him. I do think Charlotte and Detroit both make sense, and like I said this could be nothing more 2 friends trying to help each other bluff team making lowball offers.

Why would they do that when they have Ellis on a cheaper deal putting up better numbers than Gordon?

The best deal for all parties IMO, and because Detroit is retarded

Houston gets Josh Smith
Detroit gets Eric Gordon
New Orleans gets Asik, Motiejunas

Charlotte definitely makes sense, as they have both the need and a matching expiring contract in Ben Gordon.

Detroit may make sense, depending on on what they think about KCP as a long-term prospect. They need guys who can shoot from the outside considering the logjam between Smith, Monroe, and Drummond, and Jennings isn't going to get it done by himself.

I'd have to wonder what we'd get out of this, as there's no fricking way I'd take Josh Smith. Villanueva / Stuckey, Monroe, and filler, though? I'd go for that if we think Monroe pairs well with Davis.

We are not getting Monroe. I would think we're more likely to get just expirings like Villanueva and Stuckey. Gordon alone isn't enough to get Smith, but if you do the 3 team with Asik and Motiejunas maybe you throw Jason Smith at Detroit too?

I will be happy whenever we trade this cancer away even if it's for expiring contracts.

If I knew Monty was going to be here for the next 3 years I'd be hoping to pickup Josh Smith. He's a perfect Monty player.

However, I don't want or expect that to happen and if we think Gordon is hard to trade, imagine trying to trade a disgruntled, 28+yo, Josh Smith with 3 more years on his contract.

If we get Josh Smith, I pray to God that Davis' jump shot keeps developing because we'll need his ability to score from beyond 2 feet from the rim.

They're basically the same player... After you factor in the contracts, it's no question I'd rather have Jones

I think Morey is that guy in your fantasy league that is infatuated with "names" tho

I would stop watching the Pelicans if we traded for Josh Smith.

Definitely a top 10 shittiest player in the league all things considered. He sucks and I hate him.
