I’m confused.

He’s got years left on his contract, but he informed Cuban he’s done. AND he’s excited about the next chapter in his coaching career?

How?

Devil's Advocate:

The Dallas Mavericks have not won a first round series in a decade. 10 years.

Although...Blazers or Bucks makes a lot more sense for him you would think.

Or Celtics. I think we may be on the outside looking in on a guy as respected and established as Carlisle

Yeah. C's make sense too.

We are probably sort of low in the pecking order.

Franchises like us probably need to take chances on young guys and shoot for the moon. Not old washed up retreads like SVG.

The dumb thing is, our stupid weak arse kids probably wouldnt like Rick either lol. So even if he wanted to be here our group would crumble again when griff replaced one gripey old white man with another. They’d prob view him exactly the same way as stan even though he is a much better coach.

Cuban has been trying to get a star through free agency for a decade. They didn’t bottom out but didn’t go all out to win either. Now their second star is Porzingis who sucks

i think the has more to do with the roster. That roster has been pretty average for a while. Apparently Carlisle and Doncic butted heads however

And Simmons was on his podcast the other day shitting on the Athletic report about everyone in that organization hating his buddy Haralabob.

Yep. Nephew Kyle probably poorly editing that out as we speak

Well considering how fragile Zion appears to be...maybe Carlisle isn't the guy for us either.

We will probably have to go with a guy like Charles Lee. Or a former player like Billups.

Carlisle had the most over the top praise of Zion of anybody in the league.

Called him point guard Shaq. The dump truck should be on the way to Carlisle's house already.

I'm assuming this was an actual mutual parting of ways, contrary to the other "mutual" parting of ways that have occurred this past week.

I know this isn't what we are talking about here, but Zion was neutral about SVG. Didn't hate being pushed, but did hate losing. He and his family did hate the regression.

Zion & his family won't be upset if Griff brings in a coach as highly respected as Rick Carlisle

Isn't coach K kind of a hardass? I think Zion just wants to win. He's probably pissed his buddy Ja gets to play in the playoffs and we can't get out of our own way.

There had been simmering tension between Luka Doncic and Rick Carlisle that was a concern within the Mavs organization. The expectation was that he'd return next season, but he'd have been on the hot seat.

If Rick can get Luka's no defense playing arse to the playoffs, he can get Zion and Ingram's no defense playing asses to the playoffs.

If you want to make playoffs consistently and nothing more than he would fit well with Pels
