What lmao, when the dude drives literally 3-4 defenders crash the paint. How is that not creating opportunities for other players

Bucher has been anti-Zion since the Draft, so he’s going to die on that hill as long as it keeps getting the clicks.

Bucher is so consistently terrible I’m convinced he doesn’t watch any games at all. He is a certified idiot.

On a more humorous note, Ryan Rusillo basically took Bill Simmons to the woodshed over his comments about Zion with Barkley and some of his Ringer guys before that, and in typical hot-take Simmons fashion(and a little bit to his credit I guess), he took back everything he said and just fell back in love with Zion for destroying his Celtics.

...So at least some of them are slowly learning.

I did listen to the Russillo/Simmons one.

Simmons completely backtracked. It was sort of amusing.

He did backtrack which was good to hear, I wanted the Pelicans to beat the Celtics if for nothing more than to hear what Simmons had to say. Now contrary to that, he had a whole segment related to how bad the refs were from that game and as a whole in the league. Of course he only focused on the calls that he thought were bad for the Celtics and somehow didn’t mention a single call that screwed the Pelicans for which there were way more.

Also said Brooklyn wasn't one of the best teams because of their defense.

They just tore through a 5 game road trip going 5-0 winning vs: LA Clippers, LA Lakers, Phoenix, GSW, and Sacramento

3 of the top 4 in the west and a play-in caliber team

Oh yeah...WITHOUT durant for 4 of them

Guess he missed Zion driving and kicking out to BI for the open 3 at the end of the celtics game.

Yeah, a Celtics fan complaining about the officiating in that game needs to suck a dick

Aside from the way too long bitching about instant replay, its not bad as far as national podcasts go.

They do also discuss SVG as one of their "You're Out Of Excuses" Yes or No segment.

Spoiler: They walk back from saying this season already proves he's a failure, to I think sensibly acknowledging the problems of the roster/situation, but do shite on his past performances a bit and say if he can't make it work that's likely all but it for him in the league(which I think most would agree). I think they stack the deck a little too hard against SVG's past stints and leave out some important context, but their assessments of his past stints aren't entirely invalid.

To his credit he actually did bitch about one of the calls that went in the Celtic's favor, however, he did at one point infer one of the calls would have changed things for a Celts win(though said in service of his point he was fine with them screwing it up if it meant replay goes away), but did completely ignore(or if you are generous, missed) the two missed travel calls that should have ended the Celtics then and there.

The funny thing about this take in comparison to Bucher's Ja Morant take is that one of these 2 players' team is statistically better when he's OFF the court. And it ain't Zion.

It's obviously minuscule but Morant's career Net Rating is -0.1 and Zion's is +3.4.

No. Zion’s been rolling since way before halfway through Jan 2021.

Altering defenses, scoring, etc.

@RicBucher
says the Bulls’ front office made the right decision to rebuild after the 97-98 season

"If Jordan didn't want to play with someone other than Pippen or with a coach other than Phil Jackson, they had no choice but to go the direction they did."

He also said in that interview that Michael Jordan, the reigning league MVP, was declining physically, as was Pippen, so it was the right move...MJ averaged over 20pts a game when he was 39 btw, in case anyone forgot

Dude isn't just dumb about Zion
