I can find you 20 with one Google search excoriating the move and rightfully so.
Does is sting a little less given Queen’s early success?
All of that is irrelevant if Queen develops into a player that should have been picked higher. The underlying assumption in all of that analysis was that Queen was not a top 4 draft-level player. If he turns out to be, then the trade was good.

It absolutely is relevant.
As I stated earlier in this thread, had you not overpaid you could have Queen AND a top 10 pick this year if you didn’t overpay to begin with.
No matter how good DQ turns out to be it does not justify the overpayment for him when that overpayment will likely cost you that high of a pick. If it works out where our pick falls 11-30 then cool we skinned by and got lucky. If we gift Atlanta a top 10 pick, you will not hear the end of it from anyone.

Y'all don't understand ... instead of Derik Queen, we could actually have a totally random draft pick in a loaded draft. Loaded! Next year's draft is totally loaded, just like it always is.
At least get it right. We’d have two picks that will probably be very high in a totally loaded draft….

Aren't you the guy that thinks zion has more than one move?

Trying to dump him after 8 games might be even a worse decision than drafting him
Gonna have to see what we can do with him
Gonna have to see what we can do with him

I liked Queen now. I liked him as a prospect.
The trade was fricking unquestionably stupid.

No doubt
And no batter how good he is, he will be judged by it, even though he didn’t do it.
But we have him so let’s ride

This is where I was. I like Queen the prospect, but not enough to gamble a Pacers pick with no Haliburton or on a roster counting on a healthy Zion.
That’s borderline retarded.

Seriously, y'all, watch this breakdown of DQ in the 4th quarter of last night's game. It's almost exactly how Denver uses Jokic as the top of the key. Having a big who has a handle and who can shoot completely opens up the floor.

Good watch..definitely check it out if you have time.

Does Zion work beside this offense with Queen running it? Or does he kill the spacing because he can’t shoot from anywhere except under the goal? What if Willie has been a good coach all along and it’s been Zion’s one dimensionism killing this team lmao, because the actions they show in that breakdown actually look good.

SFP, everyone in here knows that you didn't watch the last two games. I doubt you even watched the highlights. You can quit posing as a Pels fan.

If you call an allin in poker for full pot on the turn with a 2-outer, if you hit, is that a good decision or a bad one?

Did you win?

Yes, but we know the % and EV of the decision, at the same time.
It's a bad decision regardless of the outcome.
It's an illustration of the danger of result-oriented thinking/analysis.
You can justify really bad decisions using results-oriented thinking.
