You really wouldn’t expect them to be. You have to play into that shape a bit and there’s a decent amount of time before the season to get there.

We need trade Dyson and Kira while we have a chance

They're all going to have to get in much better shape if they intend to play at the pace we're seeing tonight. We're clearly not there yet as a team.
3 games in 5 days (how does this happen who knows) so they are being gunshy with the minutes.

Won't be surprised if the starters don't play on Thursday.

Is it just me or is Orlando top to bottom in better fitness than the Pels?

Dyson is a serviceable NBA player. Kira is not. As such, Kira has negative trade value.

Jordan Hawkins is awful.

Too late lol. This FO is terrible at drafting which is a death sentence as a small market. Jax, NAW, Kira, and Hawkins are all firsts they’ve basically lit on fire. Dyson might also prove to be a bust. This is why we need to trade firsts. Because this FO will just end up drafting a bust anyway

Where do we get these players from? Seems like it's the Cracker Jack box. Why can't our bench players handle the ball or shoot? It seems other teams do better drafting. I see more or less of the same things from last year. We play team ball early on then go right back to one-on-one and lose leads. I know it's early but let's see some focus from our guys.

We're without 4 of our rotational guys (Alvarado, Trey, Nance, and Zeller) so we didn't have enough quality bodies to hold it down when the starters sat. We're probably going to look bad for the most part when starters aren't playing in preseason.

But yeah, lottery picks have been rough.

Trey, Nance, and Alvarado are our top 3 bench guys. Zeller is probably the 9th, 10th, or 11th man with Naji and Dyson depending on matchups. We were missing 40% of our rotation tonight, in a game where no starter played after halftime.
Imagine if Cole Anthony, Jonathan Isaac, Gary Harris, and Mo Wagner wouldn’t have played for Orlando tonight. We can’t take away anything that happened in the second half. That was basically like a summer league game because even guys who may play at times for us were thrust into much different roles with our top bench guys out.

Im ok with that. I just want this preseason to be about starters figuring it out which they never got time to last season. Our bench guys know who they are.

A lot of good ball movement last night, and knocking some rust off too. Multiple times BI, Zion, and CJ had space that they rarely saw last year. CJ got up 6 threes within the flow of the offense in one half of action. Herb and Kira looked confident and aggressive when they had the ball, Pels need to see the same thing from Dyson, Naji, and one of our bigs beside Val. Keeping an eye on Seabron.

It's going to be hard for him to get playing time with everyone ahead of him, but hopefully some minutes open up by the trade deadline. He gets to the basket at will. I hope his defense is good enough because he seems like a good candidate to replace Naji next year as a high energy chaos agent when Naji gets a raise we can't afford.
