So we basically just drafted an even rawer Jaxon Hayes, that about sums it up? FML.

Tbf, jaxson had some potential as a shooter, with a semi decent ft%

I would have preferred Holmes, but I I don’t hate the Missi pick. He has a much higher ceiling.

For the people hating on the Missi pick, who would you want instead?

Not sure but doubt it’s Missi. He’s probably the backup C tho.

I wonder if we can get a late pick for Terrence though. If he drops to the second round, you def have to get one.

What a joke! The cat picked after him from Dayton is way better.

I would think but unless we make a trade with the Hawks, I don’t see a lot of decent options. Especially with Claxton resigning.

The Pels organization has NOT developed any player to where you see significant growth in one's game. The only development has been Herb's shot and presumably the engineer who is to take credit, is in Detroit.
You cannot point out, in any player, a particular skill that is new or developed after being acquired.
If I had to pick someone, maybe Naji, for whatever that's worth, became serviceable in certain areas.
We need a player development coach that's worth a damn.

Seriously I feel like I need a shower after that pick. At best a backup defense only big with our 1st. Good times. Please just fricking get JV back at this point then actually give him the ball.

I thought our front office kept things quiet. I posted this in another thread but there was nothing but smoke around Hawkins last year, and Missi this year. I want to say it was also leaked we were taking Trey Murphy before that draft.

This front office blabs more than a 9 year old school girl..

All doing the playoffs so many on here gushed over Lively some even saying we should have traded up to get him. So now we draft a player with a similar skill set and some are upset? Like did people really expect to get a center ready to start at pick 21 in a draft the people have been calling historically bad for years.

Messi is a solid pick and one that is certainly more worthy than Holmes.
Missi can focus on rebounding and defense solely when he enters a game. He's your backup Center.

I wonder if Griff will buy a pick to get in the 2nd round...

Missi is not similar to Jaxon Hayes. He’s much more in the Clint Capella and Daniel Gafford mold and build. He brings what Jaxon lacks actually, as Missi is sturdier, physical and plays extremely hard. Jaxon was/is a much better shooter.

He is no where near Lively coming out of college. Lively in a deep draft was drafted what top 10 or 11. This dude in a weak arse draft was drafted 21. Not all athletic big men are the same.

Lively was a better prospect than Missi and much further along in his development. And proved to be a lot more NBA ready than given credit for. Missi by all accounts is a project.
