Pels need to trade for James Harden

Hear me out.

Harden and D’Antoni are joined at the hip. Chris Paul plays at a slower pace.

Harden gave Daryl Morey a demand, “Him (Paul) or me.”

They can’t trade Paul’s contract, and Paul and D’Antoni don’t gel.

So it may just be that the best outcome for the Rockets would be to keep CP3’s contract, trade Harden for assets, and not re-sign D’Antoni (which is predicted anyway). Get Houston and CP3 a Quin Synder type coach who coaches more to CP3’s pace and surround CP3 with more compatible players.

Harden is a ball dominant guard who plays at a frenetic pace. The Pels ranked second in the NBA in pace last year, and Alvin Gentry is basically D’Antoni’s understudy. Harden would flourish in NOLA in Gentry’s system.

So let’s trade with the Rockets. We get James Harden, they get #4, the 2025 first rounder, and Jrue.

The point is we have the assets to trade. Let’s do it.
