@WojYahooNBA: Philadelphia will receive two second round picks from Cavs for Hawes, league source tells Yahoo Sports.
cavs must have trade plans for haws cause he is in the final year of his contract.

Philly is going to need to absorb a contract or two to get over the salary floor.

I dont think they care. IIRC, all that means is they pay their players the difference between team salary and the floor.

Meh. If we think they take too many mid range jumpers now.....

That said, how far are we from the tax line?

It looks like about $5 - $6 million. Tax line is $71.7. BSS has salary total at $65.2, HoopsHype appears more up to date and has $66.5 but they also seem to be counting partials for guys like Childress and I think you have to be on the roster at the end of the season to be considered in the tax equation.

Or they think they have a legit chance to make the playoffs in the East and just added a decent big man for the stretch run and only gave up 2 second rounders for him.

But another trade is def a possibility.

Sounds like we won't give up any picks for Hill.

Depends on how legit the Pierre to Turkey rumors are. It may be that Demps has decided to go home early because the fish aren't biting.

It could be a last ditch attempt to see if someone will put a "best offer" on the table.

But I think we don't do anything today. As you say, the fish just aren't biting.

@ESPNSteinLine: Quite a dance playing out on Jordan Hill front. Lakers want pick for Hill. But I'm told Nets want pick from Lakers for saving them $7+ mil

Awesome, so if we'll take him for free we're not out of it.

@ESPNSteinLine: Taking Jordan Hill into Brook Lopez DPE would cost BKN $17-ish mil & save Lakers $7-ish mil. Less than three hours to go for deal to be made

If the only other team interested in him wants a pick back, we have a trade exception to use, no Center on the roster better than Hill, and no other PF on the roster besides Davis, why are we backing away?
