The problem with him this year is I don't believe he fell off a cliff, I think he just flat out didn't want to play.

If NAW would've stayed healthy and played over Bledsoe, we likely make the play in over Memphis imo

100000% the effort was the most criminal.

IMO, he deserves a lot of the blame for the spacing issues this year. We can say it was Adams (I don’t agree with 90% of the hate he gets), but Jesus Christ this man was airballing 3-4 times a game. Who the hell is he drawing out? Literally no one.

Why would we want Love in that scenario? I'd rather not have a pick and no Love.

Love is literally one of the most gettable guys in the league that will cost nothing and is an absolute PERFECT fit next to Zion.

Also, in that scenario you are trading Kira and #10 for Sexton and #18, Bled and Adams are being swapped for Love in a wash of contracts (Love is only owed 3 million more on his contract than Bledsoe and Adams is)

Why does Cleveland swap Love for Adams/Bledsoe? They likely will be drafting another guard, so would another undersized PG be a need/want? They also are trying to keep Allen, Wouldn't Adams be an expensive backup as neither he or Allen really work at the 4?

That is an overstatement to the extreme. He's a good rebounder and can shoot well so in that context sure.

He's also old, often often often injured, and plays literally no defense whatsoever. And makes A LOT.

I think the question is, if you move Sexton without giving up any of our Guards:

Do you try and keep Lonzo or S&T him for whatever you can get?

Can Sexton and NAW start together?

I would much rather get both PJ Tucker and Kelly Olynyk with the money we would just spend on Kevin Love.

If Love is healthy he's a good fit. It's been 5 years since he played more than 60 games. Bledsoe is someone you have enough depth to dump without consequence, Adams is not. You need someone to wrestle with the bigger bigs in the league and you aren't getting that for the minimum.

If Cleveland made it a condition of getting Sexton cheap, I'd do it. If not, I'd just send Bledsoe and get other filler back.

I'm thinking about the ripple affect of getting Sexton and not giving up a lot, and then him getting a huge contract.

It likely means that he has worked out and is the "third star".

At that point you are using your treasure trove of picks...to actually pick players because you need cheap depth...or to pair with BI if you the fit isn't working for another star.

You're definitely S&T Lonzo for complimentary players, like to the bulls for Aminu and Satoransky or something.

You're probably trying to re-sign Hart if its in the 10 mill per year range because of his skillset.

You're trying to use the MLE on some kind of 3/4 swing I would imagine.

No plausible unless you're trying to get them in a sign and trade, in which case you pretty much only have Adams or Bledsoe to send out, both who make.way more money than PJ and Kelly will make.

For a team like them, 2 smaller salaries are better trade chips at the deadline when they could possibly have contending teams sniffing around look for veteran help to make a run.

It takes more than 2 guards to make a team

I'm not so sure on this, there's some rumors going around that Allen wants more money than they are willing to pay him.

I'm well aware, which I why I said unless you're trying to get them in a sign and trade. That's the only way you would get either one, by overpaying in a S&T. We don't have the cap space to get them.

We have Exceptions and I don't see Olynyk getting more than the MLE this offseason.

You really have talked to Pelicans fans that dont think Bledsoe was a disaster? I mean pretty much everybody realizes that.

We also wouldn't be counting on him to play huge minutes. He could come in and give us 15 minutes a night and that's really all that would be needed. He could/would stay alot healthier that way.

Also, as someone in another thread pointed out, he hasn't had any major injuries, just small ones

And what would make him choose us when he will likely have 10 contending teams offering him the same money?
