Our problem last night was offense.

Offense wasn't good but you give up 70 in the first half on 60%+ shooting. More offense and better shooting is the sexy answer, but when healthy and playing their best this season the biggest improvement was on defense.

The absolute rabid excitement that was in the city pre-injury has pretty much evaporated for the time being.
So, guessing you were not at the game last night? It was crowded and people were excited pre-game. The team just took the crowd out of the game early. So, not sure where you jumped to that conclusion. Is it simply because the team has been away from home for a while?

I don't think a 3 seed matters if we're too banged up when we get there. We already know that this team can beat anyone in a 7-game when healthy. I don't really care where we're seeded.

If you don't get a top 3 seed, you're not a legit title contender.

JV is so frustrating to watch when teams put him in the P&R. Miami did it all night. You would think he would pick up the concept at some point in his career.

what was once a promising season is quickly turning into a disappointing one.

What this does show is you probably do need a significant trade. I think it makes a Bogdonavic or OG level trade a lot more likely rather than something smaller.

Not sure why. Should we assume BI and Zion will be out most of the rest of the season? If so, will one trade really help? I would not give up what it would take to get OG, especially knowing the contract he will need soon. Bojan could be more reasonable if his price comes down.

I believe I saw the other day that a top 3 seed wins the championship like 97% of the time?

Correct. The mid 90s Houston Rockets as a 6 seed are the only ones to do it.

I'll keep speaking on it, the title window is now. We have to do all we can to get as close to a title as possible this season. We're in a precarious spot right now and until we get these 2 dudes back. It potentially could derail our entire season.

You're a basketball city when you really support the team when they are losing.

if it was just that we were doing everything we could but still losing, that's one thing... but when you have guys who are "hurt", basically just refusing to even try to play, that's not something that fan bases readily tolerate or accept...

at this point, Herb and BI should be back, but for one reason or another, they aren't... outside of Kawhi, i can't remember any team either allowing the player to sit out on their own volition, or by mandate, for this long... and that's what most fans are upset about... it's not the losing, as much as it is the unwillingness to even try to do everything possible, upto and including pushing guys to come back from injury sooner rather than later

We'll be flirting with .500 unless we start playing better or get a guy back. By that time, it may just be too late to do any real contending.

the contending comes on the court. the biggest trouble with a low seed is the one extra road game. denver and memphis are both at 20-3 at home. fwiw 7 of memphis' 9 losses were immediately after Bane went down with Ingram toe. 1-7.

true that if you are low seed you get to play a top team round one but if you have pretense to win it all you meet them eventually anyway.

Oh really? If this team doesn’t get healthy we’ll be lucky to limp in as the 8th. Go look at the standing and see how close everyone is except the first 2 seeds!

Charmin twins are fighting for the softest professional player making hundreds of millions courtesy of Benson.

I don't think we can call Zion soft.

He's one of the most physical players in the league, he played 2020-21 end of season with a broken finger until we were out of the playoff race.

In those 10 we have been something like 26th in ORTG and 22nd in DRTG. Quite frankly it’s alarming how bad we have been, and no BI and no Zion isn’t an excuse for being THAT bad.

Zion isn’t soft. He’s had legit injuries. Nothing you can do about a hamstring pull. 3-4 weeks is pretty standard.

However Ingram is soft as frick. Always misses more time than he should. He missed like 2 weeks after getting barely grazed by a teammate in the face. What was once a day to day injury of the toe has turned into a two month injury with no end in sight. Other players with similar injuries came back weeks and weeks earlier. Soft as absolute charmin.

There’s not much he can do he is just too slow to be a good defender

You can't bring Zion back to soon because a hamstring strain if not fully healed will easily pop up again see Booker. But it's time for BI to get on the court, it's like Bane injury it want get 100 until off season surgery he has to learn to deal with the discomfort and playing at 85%-90%.

Chris Vernon from the mismatch podcast said Desmond bane will have to get surgery in the offseason to completely fix his toe. So he’s not 100% but playing. If BI has the same injury then he needs to realize his options are to play through some pain or get the surgery and be out for the season. It’s not going to heal itself sitting in street clothes
