Part of getting 2 firsts is having to take on Asik. Eric Bledsoe is not a 2 first round player.
Good luck telling Phoenix that. If Bledsoe was only worth one first round pick and players he would not be a Sun right now

Just to let you know, he's got 2 years left on a pre-CBA deal.
They wouldn't move him until at least next offseason if he told them quietly he wasn't re-signing.
The MINIMUM from us I imagine would be Jrue, Cheick Diallo, 2 unprotected firsts, and taking on any bad deals they may have, if they even had any. And that offer would still probably get crushed by half the league.
But...Oladipo/Sabonis for Paul George so the frick knows.

We'll revisit Wall discussions in a year.
Man, if we had Coach Cal. The possibilities...

Washington wants to get rid of John Wall's contract if he doesn't commit to them long-term, which he hasn't. Washington would definitely listen if a 1st round protected it thrown in the package.
Sarcasm aside, we'd need to put together a package similar to what OKC sent to Indy and what MIN sent to Chicago (which we don't have so we would probably have to take on some bad contracts and give up all our assets), even if Wall comes out and says "I'm not going to resign in Washington." Which for the record he has not said yet, only speculated since he hasn't signed an extension yet.
A LOT of dominos need to fall to make Wall happen

If you can get Wall, screw protection. The chances of that pick being worth a shite is small, and if it is worth a shite, the castle has been sacked anyway.

Get Wall at all costs...send all the picks. You get Wall, find some way to get Calipari and we are set with our players for 10 years.

Wall was saying Cousins might go to DC earlier this year.
And recently we've heard of Cousins recruiting guys to come here
Hell we've been talking about Wall being a possibility here for a while. He and Boogie are close. Let's say the Pels win 50ish games this year, which I think they will, or at least come close. That would certainly make us the much more appealing. The odds of this happening are incredibly low, but there's definitely a chance. That big 3 would win 60, maybe even more. I bet Cousins had already brought it up to Wall.

Would Washington be willing to take on Jrue's contract?
If Jrue's not involved, what are we giving up to acquire and make cap space for him?

Asik, Q-Pon and a first should do it...ha

best case scenario is Jrue balls the frick out.

The idea being tossed around is sending Ajinca, Moore, and possibly Qpon to Detroit, Reggie Jackson to Washington, and Wall to New Orleans.
You'd have to send picks to Washington as well because LOL @ them if they take that deal.

When they listed the criteria for the new extensions Wall bitched to high heaven about how unfair it was because he had never made an All NBA team before. If you could have given him the extension last summer he'd have already signed it. Maybe he just wants to make sure they sign Porter first, but given the Wizards upward trajectory and the East's talent drain with LeBron possibly leaving too, I was surprised he didn't sign immediately after making such a big deal about how he deserved that extension.
Could the UK frat party in NOLA be the reason he hasn't signed yet? If Cal really wants this job he probably is already trying to line things up behind the scenes. Being able to deliver a resigned Cousins, an extended Davis and John Wall all in the same summer should be enough to get him the job. Assuming he wants it and can actually pull that off.

The fact is, he is a Sun right now despite them actively shopping him. There aren't a ton of teams with the potential volatility to give you back two first round lottery picks that are trying to win-now. The Pelicans are in a unique situation. This thing could go to shite in a hurry, and the Suns could own 2 lottery picks. I'd be curious to see what other teams could offer that same plausibility that would be willing to part with 2 firsts. There's also the fact that no one has money to spend that's worth a crap. No rebuilding team is going to send 2 firsts to Bledsoe.

A Wall/Cousins/Davis pairing is the absolute dream of dreams. Gets you ring chasers and shooters that want to play with those guys, and would be an absolutely incredible team.
Easily a WCF team with health.
Its never going to happen, but its an amazing dream.

One of the reasons Wilson Chandler is still with the Nuggets is because they have supposedly been wanting 2 1sts for him this whole time. He's basically been available as a trade piece since before he signed his current deal and they still haven't found a team that would give them what they thought he was worth. Most teams over value their own players and typically make the mistake of holding on to them hoping the market will change. That often leads to them selling even lower later, but they still do it because GMs never learn.

popped over to the Wizards subreddit to see the chatter over there.. They're coming up with theories as to how they can get Cousins up there next year -- or maybe even trade us Gortat and Oubre for Cousins at the deadline this year

If it doesn't look like it's going to work out, I would try to leverage Wall's friendship to extract Beal for Cousins.

So, I think this deal with RJ was probably discussed, but most deals like this happen shortly after they are rumored, like within hours.
I think this was one of a few deals we have discussed that just happens to have gotten out.

Joel just said he heard Pels have cap space and something up their sleeve in terms of getting a shooter. That's an interesting nugget.
