i like it. huge gamble obviously but hes never played with the likes of cousins and davis. only question is the injury.

salary is high but if he returns to old form, will be worth it.

gotta go all in this season fam

I just don't see how they have an offense good enough to be a playoff team.

so their net rating wont be 5 again, but it doesnt have to be that high to be in the playoffs. if their defense is top 3, they are probably in. losing Hayward hurts, but they've got a deep roster of guys who can play. Gobert, Rubio, Hood, Ingles, Johnson, Favors, Burks + Exum and Diaw.

quote:

they blew off Pawel's question "did they watch the Pels' games with both AD and Cousins"

i didnt get that they "blew it off." Prada, for sure, watches tons of games. will he or any national guy watch every second of every Pels game? of course not. many arent believers in what the Pels are trying to do. so what? it happens. no reason to have sour grapes with scorned lover claims about not watching games.

the larger question is: why would anyone spend time listening to talking heads, when they believe the analysts dont watch games and therefore dont have valid opinions?

David Fisher from TBW talked about the Reggie Jackson trade and threw out this...

quote:

If you’re looking into the future and dreaming big, Jackson’s contract is a far easier pill for Washington to swallow if John Wall decides he wants to team up with his Kentucky buddies in the Big Easy next summer compared to trading Jrue Holiday’s far larger contract. Those future dominos are a part of this discussion.

If that were a possibility, I don't see how Reggie Jackson's contract makes a John Wall departure easier to stomach. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Easier compared to Jrue. IE if Reggie shows the athleticism and scoring from 2 seasons ago, then Washington may be willing to take him more so than swallowing Jrues massive deal.

So the idea would be a sign-and-trade with Reggie who is making enough money to cover the swap but not as much as Jrue. And if Reggie plays well Washington would be more apt to trade?

I mean I assume we would be having the same conversation with Washington if we had Lin or Bledsoe on the team when that time to discuss Wall?

Reggie Jackson's contract doesn't, but a healthy and productive Reggie Jackson does. Washington could plug Jackson into the PG spot and continue being a playoff team while getting future picks and maybe a young player or 2 from the Pels. It wouldn't be their best offer, but we've seen players usually get their way when they have a specific team they want to go to, and if Wall had his choices I think he'd want to play with AD/DC. And then that is a team worth paying the tax for.

You don't do the trade for that reason, that's just one of the benefits if it actually works out.

lol I get it. I don't think the Pels make this trade for the sole reason of trading him later.

But at the same time I know a lot of people complain that many of our deals do not have any foresight. So I was just curious if this trade cripples us or could be moveable

Jimmy butler was traded for 1st+lavine

Demarcus cousins was traded for 1st+hield

If we trade for Jackson, he plays well, but we're a lotto team because the west is too deep, could wall be had for 1st, diallo, and Jackson?

I believe they watch some games, but I don't believe they are watching teams that are eliminated from the playoffs toward the end of the season (the Pelicans).

I listen to talking heads because I'm interested in the NBA as a whole, I just don't feel like the majority of people who cover the NBA as a whole pay attention to the Pelicans very much at all. I haven't heard a single national NBA podcaster/writer consider the fact that this isn't the Pels roster that will go into the season.

Once a superstar limits his destinations his price becomes a rental to most of the league. The Pels can't afford to buy Wall but they should be able to afford to rent him, especially if Jackson returns to form.

If we trade for Jackson, I hope the trade ends up being: Solo & Moore for Jackson & Stanley Johnson.

When dafukk has specifics of any Pelican trade been known in advance. Only a dumbfukk would take trade rumors at surface value. If the trade happens, I doubt does in the leaked format. The same dumbass people swore it would take multiple first round picks to get Avery Bradley.

I'm simply saying that you would rather trade 2 players that are actually useful as opposed to Ajinca.
