Time to move on from Evans.
Dude, the Kings haven't said anything yet on what they're going to do. Chill out, and have the mindset the Pelicans are still going to get him. The Kings could want to tank next season for the 2014 Draft.
People here jump to conclusion that Tyreke is gone now just because they took the offer away from Iggy. They may not want to pay that price for him.

Seriously what is the point of the 10 day moratorium? It fricks over any teams trying to get a RFA
The NBA does all their accounting from the prior season and sets up the actual salary cap, tax line, etc.
Without those things locked it, nothing can really happen since teams don't know what their room is, etc.

First props to macatak911 for keeping the OP updated so I don't have to wade through 20 pages of emotional roller coaster to see what happened after midnight.
Second, Lopez is very tradeable so the July 5th deadline to buy him out doesn't mean much. The real deadline is July 10th. If the Kings can't find someone else to shut up and take their money they will probably hold out on an S&T with us until the last second hoping for more assets. The point of no return is when Tyreke can sign the offer sheet and the S&T option goes out the window. Judging by the contracts that have been given out so far in FA I can see the Kings thinking Tyreke is a decent enough trade chip to match, but they clearly don't want to match and Demps just needs to give them enough reasons not to.

Sounds like they're looking at other options besides Tyreke to fill cap space.
It's clear they don't want to keep Tyreke at the price we offered. They are looking pretty hard for something else to do with the money. The big question is will they spend that money on someone elses players or will we have to give up a few Pelicans to make it happen.

4-5 days would have big FAs signing in the middle of the 4th of July holiday when no one is paying attention. Stern knows exactly what he's doing, bringing the drama.

McNamara just mentioned Monta Ellis
I know the Kings were rumored to have interest in him when the new owners took over... he could be their next target

After the drama unfolded last night someone posted some tweets about Sac being interested in other SFs too.

So is Tyreke going to stop sitting with his thumb up his arse and make his mind up today or what?
Posted on 7/3/13 at 8:42 am to tehchampion140
It's more SAC that needs to make up its mind more than anything.

Just found this from an article on a Kings board, but it comes from their Fletcher so take it with a grain of salt:
quote:
Evans is leaning toward giving a verbal commitment to the Pelicans, who have offered the restricted free agent a four-year, $44 million deal, said sources familiar with the negotiations. He could commit to New Orleans today.
Evans had hoped Sacramento would offer at least $48 million over four years. But he isn't likely to receive that because the Kings believe that is above his market value. Read more here: LINK

What, I thought he already signed the offersheet we gave him?
If that's the case, the ball is in the Kings' court.

No, he can't sign squat until the 10th, but he could have easily just come out and said he will take New Orleans' offer.

Hopefully Dell is waking those assfricks up right now and trying to work out a S&T
Who the hell puts a 14m/yr offer on the table for 2 fricking hours?

People need to stop saying that. Fletcher actively makes stuff up to troll people. Jason Jones stories have caught my eye many times over the years and it never looked like Fletcher's obvious trolling, he's their Jimmy Smith or John Reid, not their Fletcher.
