It just reeks of cousins being vindictive, ok if no one wants to pay me, how can I piss off the entire league? He’s very short sighted and his own worst enemy

Hey, genius, what the frick do you think this means?

I’m pretty sure I explained it in the thread, genius. Boogie said we didn’t want him. Until we hear otherwise from Pelicans I think it’s not a stretch to read between the lines.

I guess when you can say people are lying you’ll never be wrong.

So does this mean that the Pelicans can resign Randle for +20% raise if he opts out after first year, because his contract is two years?

I'll be honest, I didn't read past your first post originally, but after doing so, I'm not sure what your point is/was.

You think we had any reason to just let him walk? There were threads today suggesting we offer $14MM/year that we're laughed at for being too low. No way we just didn't offer him. This screams spurned lover shite. Boogie was super hurt by how Sacramento did him and was looking for absolute messiah treatment from us. The reality that his injury brought to his value was too much for him to handle so he took an easy, spiteful way out as to spurn us before we could publicly spurn him.

I think if he opts out it is treated as a one year deal.

Given everything ever said about Cousins, it isn’t too much of a surprise.

He’s always been considered extremely immature.

I simply said it could be possible that the reason we didn’t resign Boogie was because Gayle didn’t want to go into the tax, THATS THE REASON. It was more of an opinion than a point which is what we do on this board, give opinions based on info we have.

I feel like she could have very easily said offer whatever doesn’t take us into the tax and if he passes we’ll move on or S&T.

The spurned lover stuff coulda been him going to warriors instead of agreeing to S&T.

I hear you, but I don't think we ever valued him anywhere near the amount we'd have to pay him to go into the tax, post injury.

That makes Gayle not wanting to go into the tax a moot point.

I think it's entirely possible the Pelicans did not make a formal offer in a scenario that they told him to go out and see what offer(s) he could find and then the Pels would negotiate. Something akin to a restricted free agent that the Pels could choose to match. If someone offered him a short max, great for him.

When nothing materialized other places and he GSW offer was actually his best, it's possible he didn't even give the Pels a chance to negotiate when the ball would be in Pels court (bc they'd not offer significant over whatever offer he received). If he felt low-balled in any situation, signing before getting a formal offer from the Pels allows Boogie to control the narrative. And for all we know, control is the one thing Boogie has craved but never had, both literally and figuratively.

That could easily be the case. If it is I think it’s a mistake, that’s on Dell. I would have offered a 2-3 year deal with big incentives.

I don't get such a disconnect between a top 15 player and the club

Top 15 player coming off a devastating injury for a 300lb "mobile big man"

We don't need another center who can only shoot from outside and wants a max contract

It's messed up that Boogie and Spears are spewing this lie to save face, and in return is making the Pelicans look bad and like idots or the bad guy. Marc Spears was the one that did Boogie rehab story to help his "friend " with leverage and to change his perception around the League that he was healthy and ready to be asset for Max money. So it's not a surprise when this story comes out of him signing to the Warriors, perception is that Boogie took this road "only" because he had no offers is bullshite. The reality is that the Pelicans offered him a contract where he lost leverage and he threw a hissy fit, so he went to the Lakers and they offered him a contract that he was not happy with. So to spite the league he takes a MLE deal to sign with Warriors. Now ESPN, and major news outlets will fall for this shite. shite is wild AF man.
