Lakers will do it. The picks are useless to them. When they get AD and bron, they will make playoffs and this yrs pick will be mehh. Then they add another star in offseason any future picks for next 5 yrs are trash. Lakers know this and dont give af about sending them away.

If it's a risk both franchises are willing to take than I believe we will have a deal.

Could also implode with an aging Bron, AD’s injury history returns, then you’d have your 3rd star surrounded by an awful roster. Likely why they wouldn’t want to deal any first rounders past year two of this

Demps will waste all of the picks just like he has wasted every pick except AD (which was beyond a no-brainer) in his tenure with the Pelicans.
The guy is an idiot and should have nothing to do with this trade.

Demps isn't going to see what happens with any picks we get.

And we will move the goal posts again. We have no intention of dealing with LAL

Next move by the Pelican will be "you need to do the legwork to get us players that are worth a shite. you want AD, you do the work."

If I'm not mistaken, making them take Hill back leaves then just under the amount needed for another max..

If they do have the other max slot though, let them have it, they will have 3 max guys with NOTHING around them but washed up vet minimum guys

here’s the thing
6 Hyundai’s don’t equal a Mercedes

the players the lakers have to offer don’t move the needle, and the problem with that deal is best illustrated by the “Eric Gordon corollary”...if you trade a star for a player or players you have to commit to them because you traded a star for them

anyone pumped about Brandon Ingram on a 4 year max?

all of this is lebronys fault anyway
signing with the lakers was stupid on its face and looks stupider in hindsight now...they weren’t ready and the only way to get ready remains to gut the roster and pray for rain

Shaq was right. He should have signed in New Orleans and all of this would have been avoided.

I mean Gentry and Demps are still kicking around when pretty much any other franchise would of cannned both of them as a procedural matter by this point so I am not putting it past this ownership to once again convince themselves that the easy way out is the right way.

Stepien rule prevents that but the Celtics-Nets trade for KG provides the model.

Any year they don’t convey a pick, we have the rights to swap picks.

Won’t pay off for the first year or two but it will as LBJ breaks down, AD remains injury prone, and they blow the rest of their cap space on star 3 while signing a bunch of minimum guys to fill out the roster.

They won’t have available picks in half the years and their ability to tank is limited in the other half of those years due to the swap rights.

just slow play them , keep dialog, make them go on a witch hunt, see if you can trade x, x and x for more picks and get back to me in a few weeks.
