The Pelicans are NOT stretching/waiving Rivers. It makes zero sense.

That would be one of the best starting 5's in the league though

If Pelicans do waive/stretch Rivers they are trading Asik into cap space. Lose depth, lose the MLE, lose the BAE. Very shallow roster.
shite that would be such an epic fail.

they can't all play 48 minutes a game, though

Not truly a possibility but an option. Demps would ruin his reputation in the league, but the deal is technically not binding.

Fisher is still going off about Lowe's wording of that tweet
Posted on 7/11/14 at 1:29 pm to Cap Crunch
So from a cynical viewpoint, the rest of the off-season is pretty much going to be shedding salary to get Asik on the roster.

Well if we aggeed at first that Houston would have to wait until the 13th to finalize the deal, then it's on them.

It was a bad tweet. Lowe is still the man, but that offering was crap.

If Demps does this he needs to be fired

Possibly, but now that Lebron has finally signed and Melo should in the next day or two the trade market will open back up
Posted on 7/11/14 at 1:31 pm to Jwho77
Not really, I went back and re-read it and still didn't find anything wrong with it. Fisher is just arguing over semantics.

It's an option in name alone. There is no scenario where the Pels would have to do that. Rivers is not Gordon...at least one of the 29 other teams would take him off our hands.

once the big names stop dicking around and sing, we can figure out how to keep rivers, shed gordon and pick up asik. Miami and the Lakers are going to need some bodies.

Yesterday he said he was sick of all of this and the abuse he took online for a non-paying job, so he basically quit.

I wouldn't toy with you, I am just saying its feasible. the only thing that's screwing us is MarK Cuban trying to hurry all these decisions by offering Parsons a deal..
