The issue isn't so much losing Austin, although I really don't want to.

It is the STRETCH provision on Austin. Dead money for multiple years on a player you SHOULD be able to give away to someone.

That, to me, would be a major, major fail.

Jesus, ESPN and ESPN2 are both airing the same thing that is just Chris Broussard reading tweets off of his phone

Yeah I'm not sure how all that works. I've been meaning to read that new HP website to learn all that stuff

Oh then you lose BAE and MLE and all cap hold rights.... sooooo... basically you have the vet minimum to fill 6 spots on our roster. That is bad... no matter how you slice it.

Until Houston has full commitment from Chris Bosh, Rockets won't be reaching out to Miami on sign-and-trade scenarios, source tells Yahoo.

Let us get in on the action via sending something to Miami. I wonder if Miami has met Mr. Gordon.

That's hardly anything. You have guys playing in the d-league for that much...

If Pelicans do waive/stretch Rivers they are trading Asik into cap space. Lose depth, lose the MLE, lose the BAE. Very shallow roster.
Thats the problem with stretching Rivers.

Losing Rivers for Asik is a no-brainer. They just need to find another way to get rid of him.

Rivers with Lin to the Lakers actually makes some sense to me.

With practically no players, and a chance that Wade leaves, I'd be down for Ryno + EG to Miami for the space. We could sign some depth (Morrow?), overpay a guy like Pierce to come here for one season, and have quite a bit of cap space in a nice 2015 FA class.

What is Houston's cap situation gonna look like with Parson, Harden, Howard, and Bosh?

Luxury tax area, but apparently Bosh is willing to take less than they initially offered

If Wade were to leave Miami (seems unlikely but Marc Stein floated the idea he may want to go to hometown Chicago to try and win), the Heat will have tons of cap room and needs all over. They might want to take a flyer on Gordon. OMG PLEASE! PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE!

Sorry about that...I've regained my composure.

There's talk about Deng possibly going to Phoenix. That could open up the Ryno/Gerald Green rumors again
