Austin Rivers may be a bust but he is our BUST!

LeBron just hugged half of his camp army, and not in a "see you at the next session" kind of way. Then he left out a side door.
Hmmmmm

We're interpreting hugging techniques now. Twitter needs to get some sleep.

Why?
How many guys on this roster are 25 and under? What makes you think they aren't hungry?
AD will probably be a top 5 player by next year. That alone can make you a contender.
You missed the part about cheap deal. That alone gives a margin for error. Holiday and tyreke are already paid about as much as they will ever be relative to their experience levels. Austin still has value in that regard, as does maybe Anderson.
And don't use AD being on our team as an excuse or a safety net. If either tyreke or jrue don't pan out, we are kind of screwed. The difference between being good and great is a fine lime, and I'm not sure Asik puts us over the edge, if he isn't around for the long term. I think he is about as solid of a player as there is in he NBA, don't get me wrong, but this deal, along with the jrue deal, will effectively sacrifice all of our (NBA) youth.
Bottom line is I like Asik, good player, good fit, but that is potentially giving up like 6 years of production on rookie contracts for what could be one season, assuming no injuries.
Like the guys above me said, this is boom or bust, and with a guy like AD on the roster I don't think you take this risks. I know it is documented that we have AD for 6-7 years, most likely, but there could be some bumps in the road when he is really hitting his stride in 2-3 years (when our other big contracts expire). Further, I'm certainly no expert but isn't the CBA expiring between now and then?

Joel Myers- Anthony Davis might be the best announcer-player combo in the league.

I really want Rivers on this team. He is on the cheap and can get to the rim without any trouble, can drain a catch and shoot 3, as well as a decent passer. His defense is certainly above average and has good size to guard both the one and the two.
Why do people complain about him not doing any midrange? Its the most inefficient shot in the game.
Austin loves Monty and the team and he is probably the toughest guy with us as shown with the moderate altercations he had last season such as w Nick Collision. This team has nobody else like that and without guys like that our soft squad could get pushed around. I think Davis is the only other guy i could see getting a tech or a shoving match. (Besides Jsmith or maybe morrow who are currently not under contract).
I know Russ Smith is supposed to fill this scrappy Pg role but hes an unproven second round pick.
I dont think replacing him with a veteran will give the team what Rivers has.
