That means Houston has 72 hours to lock down Bosh or they lose Parsons and potentially get nothing in return

Kinda wouldn't mind Lebron dragging this out a couple more days now...

Can they nullify the Asik deal if they wanted to?

Why not?
If they let Parsons walk and miss out on Bosh they've pretty much failed completely in the off-season, and might just want to get some assets back on the team for trades

Nope, they do that and nobody around the league will deal with them anymore, you don't work with someone you can't trust.

Because Asik and Howard cant play together.

What is the 2015 first the Pels gave them?

they can match parsons even if over the cap due to bird rights.
That appears to have been their plan all along
The last thing they will want to do is sign parsons into cap space however as that would prevent them from poaching bosh or any other free agent. my understanding of the rules is that they can "time" the deals in whatever manner works best, but they still only have 3 days to match after midnite on the 10th

Dallas trolling Houston hard on that one

The need to trade Asik doesn't go away if they blow FA and the potential return will not improve. They've been trying to trade Asik since the moment they got Dwight. Asking price has always been a 1st which we gave. If Eastern Conference losers like Philly and Boston had offered better assets than we did, surely they wouldn't have traded Asik to a division rival. Pels 2015 pick > Boston or Philly 2016 or 2017 pick.

LeBron James has met with Heat officials and has not yet made a free agent decision, sources told ESPN
Meeting with Heat lasted over an hour, again no decision communicated.
LeBron James does not have a meeting set with Cavs at this time, sources say.

As I said earlier today, belief is that Pels-Rockets deal will get done at 12:01 on July 13th. Which means that Morey might have to avoid Parsons offer sheet for a few minutes. Rockets have 72 hrs from when they RECIEVE the offer sheet. Not when Parsons signs it.
All kinda goofy and complicated, but the Knicks actually avoided the offer sheet for a few hrs back when Jeremy Lin was a RFA
The time of the Asik deal on our end is because of Melvin Ely's contract. This is from a Mavs reporter, Houston really could get screwed if the timing is off.

To get Chris Bosh and keep Parsons, the #Rockets need a Bosh deal in place, plus some cap-clearing moves -- all within a 3-day span.

I've lost track. All I know is my dream is that I want the Asik deal to go through and Houston to get fricked.

-Can't trade Lin
-Bosh falls through
-They lose Parsons. shite, or sign him for 15 mil a year. Probably just as bad.
-Ariza and Deng fall through
Many lolrockets will be had

Take your time Bron
Seems like either Dallas or Houston gets screwed one way or another.
Houston could lose out on Bosh, other FAs if they can don't sign anybody within 72 hrs. Also lose sign and trade option if they do match Parsons. Or just lose Parsons.
Dallas is locking up their cap space and could end up losing Parsons.
