We have shitty beat writers and the other media is obessessed with LBJ/Melo.

It's not hard to figure out.

1000th post lol

I really hate these sort of responses

"You aren't constantly positive about every aspect of this franchise, which makes me a better fan than you,and means you shouldn't even be a fan"

That said, that dudes post was so negative I didn't even enjoy it

Sorry dan i'm just fed up with the nancies.

Dudes pretty much said he'll ditch the team in an earlier post if they don't get rid of EG.

You can be critical but there's a line.

You're still my favorite nancy though.

It seems like this sort of information gets out for other teams though.

Hornets Report used to have a lot of inside info because Bower didn't run a tight ship. There probably are other teams out there like that, but for the most part, the only information I've seen leak out is about deals that are about to happen or deals where agents or uninvolved teams want to use the media to change the leverage. Woj is the biggest newsbreaker in the industry. He doesn't tell you stuff a week in advance, he tells you stuff that is happening right now, he just gets the info before it becomes official. The reason there is no news is because nothing is happening because Melo and LeBron are holding everything up.

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine · 9h

Vibe I get out of New York, meanwhile, is legitimate unease ... given that some in the organization expected a decision from Melo by Monday

Popular question raised by last five teams I've talked to: Is Melo holding out in hopes Bosh goes to Houston so he can join LeBron in Miami?

I did find it a bit curious that we had a report about PJ Tucker that just said "multiple teams interested" and didn't list a single one. Either the agent was lying about the interest when he leaked the story, or the handful of teams that talked to him strong armed an agent into keeping his mouth shut for once. The fact that it was so secretive makes me wonder if we are involved. Perhaps the trade isn't Ryno for Green/pick but Ryno for Tucker/pick.

That would be a little disappointing

Ryno for Batum is the only flavor of Ryno trade I thought was reasonable. We are probably just waiting to S&T Morrow using the MLE and will end the FA period with the Asik trade and picking up a stop gap SF like Richard Jefferson or Jared Dudley.

Which would be a successful offseason IMO. People will complain, no doubt, but they will see the impact a legit center will have on this roster. Somehow it's forgotten what we've had in the middle since TC.

I'm definitely good with it. Getting Asik's Bird Rights is huge.

I agree, if we lose Ryno we need someone that will take 3's. Green was that guy last season. PJ Tucker, not so much. Though, Tucker seems like someone that would fit with Monty better than Green.

ETA: sign and trade Morrow and pick up Dudley. I'd be down with that for sure.

What happen Harry, some little philly broke your heart?

In all seriousness, we have local guys that have no idea what basketball is and only care about the saints. The national media doesn't care about us as well, which was easy to see when Asik was traded, all we heard was "Houston getting rid of Asik to clear space" but never once mentioned where he was going.

I've always wondered what the Pels coverage was like there in New Orleans considering the team is competing with things like the Saints and likely LSU. Do y'all get good regular coverage on the sports radio there? Or is mainly just beat reporters and a couple of blogs doing most of the work?

Yeah they're sadly a third wheel behind those two.

Still doesn't excuse the bad beat writers.

If you didn't pay attention, you wouldn't even know we had a pro basketball team

Places like burbon street shots and the bird writes do solid work.

The TP blogs by jimmy smith and john reid blow most of the time.

They do get some radio air actually.

Jimmy Smith has to be one of the worst beat writers in the country.

We are lucky here because outside of Memphis Tigers basketball we basically get Grizzlies dedicated radio from like 9 to 5 every day. I got like 5 hours of summer league coverage yesterday.

It is really amazing that the guys that don't get paid for this do good work, and the guys that do are awful.

Exactly.

Which is why I don't mind Fletch. At least he covers the team and is genuinely excited about doing so.
