Jazz, Grizz and Bulls among teams moving on Pacers’ Solomon Hill, per source. Utah needs potential starter if Hayward leaves next summer

They really need another 2 or combo guard. Won't rely on Buddy to start and can't trust Qpon/Reke.

Tough environment. I will have no problem with a pretty low key offseason so long as they remain disciplined and don't get stupid with Ryno after striking out elsewhere.

In addition to reported interest from Bulls, Bucks and Wolves, E'Twaun Moore is also meeting with the Pelicans this morning.

Lowe speculates if blazers go all in, harkless/Ed Davis/Vonleh would all be moved

Let's go Harkless, Harkless and Aminu are so redundant I see why they would let him go. We really need to go after him he's only a few months older than Buddy.

So, I'm starting to resolve myself to this roster for next season

Holiday/Douglas/Frazier
Hield/QPon
Turner maybe?/DC/Ennis
AD/Minnerath/Babbitt/Diallo
Asik/Ajinca

I'm not going to say we haven't tried, but to the casual observer it's going to look like we didn't.

I'm honestly ok with getting some cheap role players and calling it an offseason. We aren't going to make the playoffs next season either way

I can see an argument both ways. Is a mid teen 2017 pick going to be good enough to help the team be close to a contender in 2019-20? We've seen a lot guys on their 1st contract get moved for picks recently, pretty much all to OKC. Kanter, Waiters and now Oladipo and Sabonis. It's been their goto play for keeping KD, and I'd say it's worked out better than any other Win Now to keep a star strategy we've seen. If Frazier and Buddy develop enough maybe you trade a re-signed Jrue and the 2017 and/or 2018 pick for similar young talent.

Lakers only good deal so far I've seen with Clarkson at 4/50.

Clarkson must really like LA

As others have said, that's a nice deal in last seasons Cap

Trading the 2017 pick would be an awful decision.

I look around the league and I don't see many teams that will be worse than we are. The Lakers, Phoenix, Philly, and MAYBE Brooklyn. Minnesota will be better than us and Brooklyn is trying to get as many meaningless wins as they can since Boston owns it (or can swap, whichever). Denver is really deep. People always think Dallas is going to drop off significantly, but they're too well coached to do that.

So why trade even a lottery protected pick that's only going to maybe push us from the 13th seed to the 10th seed in the West?

I'm not melting at all - in fact it's quite the opposite where I'm trying to figure out trades or other moves. However, let's be real too, we aren't in on many names and there is a lot of money out there - go out and get bench pieces and guys that'll buy in, get healthy, improve - that seems to be the motif

Clarkson was restricted by the Arenas provision. Hence, the decent looking deal

The 2017 pick would have more value than Jrue, who is expiring, and Buddy IMO. That class is loaded and Buddy wasn't as loved by the other 29 teams as he was by us. That pick is Dell's best chance to get a quality starter or two rotation guys. It's bound to happen IMO
Would be typical Dell. Trade away a 1st rounder in a stacked draft for likely a fringe starter. If he does, I hope he learns how to protect a pick for a change and not just do the top 3 protection.

I'm guessing no Marvin now:

Now that the Hornets have retained Nicolas Batum, league sources say Charlotte is actively working to seal a deal with Marvin Williams ASAP

Lin at 3/36 is also a good deal, too.
