Jack has seemed to be a solid backup.

I would much rather pay my backup PG around 5 million as opposed to 12 million. The difference between the 12 million guys and 5 million guys just isn't great enough for me to fathom spending that much money.

Plus Lin is garbage compared to what's left. He's always been too injury and turnover prone for me.

I'm willing to bet that the Pels won't have a pick in 2017. Don't know if they trade it as soon as this summer, but they will trade it. It's their 2nd best asset and with the mandate Dell is under, it's his only move

3rd best asset. And are you sure he is allowed to trade it? Rookie contracts will be gold in the new cap world (even with a revised CBA). In terms of philosophy, Lauscha/Loomis seem to favor keeping the first round pick right now.

Technically speaking if Dell was under this crazy mandate wouldn't he have traded the 6th pick for a vet?

ETA - I assume for the right deal, he would be allowed to move it. However I would also think there would be oversight as to moving the pick for a mediocre win now piece.

The 2017 pick would have more value than Jrue, who is expiring, and Buddy IMO. That class is loaded and Buddy wasn't as loved by the other 29 teams as he was by us. That pick is Dell's best chance to get a quality starter or two rotation guys. It's bound to happen IMO

So, I'm starting to resolve myself to this roster for next season

Holiday/Douglas/Frazier
Hield/QPon
Turner maybe?/DC/Ennis
AD/Minnerath/Babbitt/Diallo
Asik/Ajinca

I'm not going to say we haven't tried, but to the casual observer it's going to look like we didn't.

If Bazemore signs in Houston which I think is going to happen, would we be open to an Ariza and could we possibly go get Beverley while we're at it? Not sure of what HOU would take in return, but just a thought.
