I thought many were saying that this was a done deal and that he was signing w/Pels along with Jrue.

That's what MM's sauces said. He seemed to feel like Demps had "given in". I'm not saying he didn't over pay, but Holiday starting out at $21.7 and not overpaying Justin makes it seem like Demps held to his numbers.

Yea if Jrue takes $20 instead of $25, Justin is a no brainer.

I bet that was mentioned somewhere in their meeting and Jrue and his agent had to make a choice

The average on Jrue's contract is $25 million with the raises, which is high, but getting him to start out below $22 is a small victory. The mistake with Jrue is they didn't get out in front of it and trade him before. I wonder if you could have gotten both Lavine and Rubio for Jrue when Minnesota had interest in him.

The East all stars this year will be JJ Reddick and Zach Lavine. There literally is no talent left over there.

The talent drain probably affected Toronto's decision to bring Lowry and Ibaka back. They're pretty much guaranteed a top 3 seed now.

George Hill and Hayward are the last big dominos.
After them the real movement will start.

Watch the Spurs get Hill on a bargain deal.

I'm curious if they'll bring him back after re-signing Mills.

Per MM, Demps is working on bigger things at the moment. I'm assuming that they'll hold off for a little bit on smaller moves until they hash out the big move that they are attempting to make.

Holiday is pretty similar to Moore, so it's not a big deal to miss out on him.

I have no idea what big things we could be working on with our shite sandwich assets.

So is it a foregone conclusion that we don't have the assets to get Bledsoe?

It's impossible to know. I wouldn't think so.

But the Pacers traded PG for fricking Oladipo and Sabonis. So who knows.

Yeah, I don't get why people worry about not being in the first wave of role player signings. Having a specific guy you think is better than the others usually leads to overpaying like they did with Solomon Hill.

Oleh from TBW throws around a few names that are likely targets, Bledsoe and Lin are the obvious ones but he also suggests Denver may have some cap casualties like Chandler/Barton and a guy I've been thinking would be available for a while, Bazemore in Atlanta. LINK

I really think they need to add a PG good enough that they'll feel comfortable trading Holiday by next year while he's still on the cheap end of his deal and a team might have interest. The way the East has gone to shite maybe Philly would want him to accelerate becoming a playoff team.

Holiday brothers wanted to play together

Dell decided not to sign Justin for half of MLE.
It means something...

I'm actually kinda proud of the job Dell did with Jrue. His starting salary is pretty decent, and he didn't over pay his brother. From the way MM was talking last week I was assuming that Jrue was going to get a contract starting at like 25 mil and Justin was going to get the full MLE.

Ya splitting the MLE with Justin would have made some sense. My theory is that Justin just preferred Chicago and that the brother thing was just made up BS the agent used as a bargaining chip.

Other possibility is that Dell has got someone who he thinks is a discount with the Full MLE. Maybe Rondo or Collison.

Dont give a grade to Jrue deal until you will know the incetives. Hopefully those 25 millions are unlikely. But who knows?
