Spurs free agent Jonathon Simmons has agreed to a three-year deal with the Orlando Magic, league sources tell The Vertical.

All guaranteed money for Jonathon Simmons's three-year deal in Orlando, per source (@wojespn first with agreement).

I feel like his deal must not be too lucrative if they aren't releasing details yet. I think someone said on twitter that Orlando's max space was like 8 mil, and could go up to 9.3 depending on UG contracts. I feel like it might even be less than 8 mil per year.

I was expecting between $8-$9 million when he was a RFA. I wonder if they would dump Herzonja for scraps. I would love to somehow get Fournier, but the new GM would have to be really down on him to trade him for anything we have.

It's 3 years/20 mil fully guaranteed per Jabari Young on twitter.

I feel like Terrence Ross is a more 'gettable' target. Maybe if they land Rondo for a reasonable price they can try to get Ross with Qpon (cash), UG contracts, and a second round pick.

Not terrible. Makes me wonder why SA did not try harder to hold on to him.

Fournier's advanced stats are pretty bad for someone making $17 million. If it weren't for him seeming like a really good fit here I wouldn't want to trade a 1st for him. Here's a comparison of Fournier to Marco Belinelli and the numbers say they are very comparable players. Would you trade a 1st for Marco making $17 million per year? It's not exactly apples to apples because Fournier is just entering his prime will hopefully get better, but how much better will he really get?

Fournier is not an efficient scorer, but he fits exactly what we need. I think Fournier is much more versatile and a better ballhandler than Belly. Belinelli also never showed the progressing that Fournier has thus far. If Belinelli were 24 with those stats, in this cap era, he may have commanded $13-$14 million.

Yeah I don't like his stats either, but as everyone says, he fits what we need. He is the focal point of their offense. Over here he would be the 3rd or 4th option.

Not that I disagree, but if Belinelli were 24 years old in todays NBA, he would probably also be overpaid

mason ginsberg makes a case for troy daniels

quote:

Based on that need, I did a quick search on basketball-reference.com to see which players over the past five seasons have shot the ball from distance both well and often. The player who has attempted – by FAR – the most three-pointers per 100 possessions while making at least 36% of them is Troy Daniels, a reserve guard for the Memphis Grizzlies. In fact, if we shrink down the list by increasing the barriers to entry, the company he sits alongside is a pretty impressive group. Daniels, conveniently enough, will earn $3.4 million next season and $3.3 million in 2018-19, and therefore would slide perfectly into that Hield TPE. Seems like an ideal fit, right?

Yeah, he's one that has been brought up before and he fits nicely in the TPE.

Had a strong wcf series but he's average. Good defender, but pretty lackluster offensively. He's an athletic energy guy, so he's gonna fight to grab a board and dunk it on your face

I wonder if we wait until the season starts if we could get Will Barton for a second rd pick and he fits into the TPE.
