Dell making it rain first rounders.

We could trade the 2020 1st for a late 2018 1st like the HOU pick from ATL or the TOR pick from Brooklyn (though that is less likely considering they dont have their first)

So Dell could trade that 1st too.

Jeff Hornacek confirms that Kristaps Porzingis is having an MRI to determine the severity of his left knee injury. He didn’t want to speculate but called it ‘deflating.’

Apparently Porzingis is hurt. That should turn the Knicks into sellers. A few weeks ago Porzingis said he wanted to see some win now trades.

ETA: Torn ACL

Knicks are stuck with the Noah contract. There is no way they going to take on extra money in Ajinca.

Very cheap. Hard to believe we were not in on that.

eh. We've got better things to do with two future 2nd round picks. I mean the guy barely plays on a crappy team. If he's worth two 2nds, Diallo is worth one at least.
I would think this means a guy like Dinwiddie may be worth a bit more than Diallo and a 2nd, especially if you are trying to dump Ajinca with it.

Does anyone know how much cash we have left to send out after the QPon trade?

I can't find that figure anywhere, but I thought I remembered seeing it at one time.

It's.a little under 3 mil. And if Ajinca is going out, they will need it

Thanks. That is a little more than I thought which helps. $3M, 2018, 2019 2nds may just be enough to dump him if we take back close to his salary for this season in a neutral or negative expiring.

I would think that would be close to neutral value from a cash perspective, but I am curious if teams are going to value space higher for the offseason with the "cash crunch" thinking they can fetch better assets this summer.

From Steve Kyler FWIW:

For what it’s worth, seems the Phoenix Suns are looking at deals involving Marquese Chriss. Several teams seem to be involved, with the Lakers being considered the Favorites.

He just got suspended by the team for getting into an altercation with assistant coaches. Also it's the Suns. They are pretty poorly run.

Details from a Suns blog:
quote:

According to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro, the Suns have a rule that if a player does not play 20 minutes in a game that the player has to do work after the game, usually an estimated seven minutes of cardio, and potentially something else.

The system is designed to keep players in shape. The rule has been in place for quite some time and is not uncommon across the NBA.

Chriss played only 14 minutes against the Utah Jazz Friday and began icing right away after the game instead of doing his required training. The weight room coach asked where Chriss was and he said he wasn’t aware of his minute total. Chriss took the ice off, went to go do the work and the weight room coach wanted to make sure Chriss was aware of this being something that he should be keeping track of.

Chriss was upset by the coach continuing to tell him this and then the coach told him to leave the room. The decision to keep Chriss away from the team Sunday followed after the front office and ownership heard about the argument.

The 20-year-old No. 8 selection by the Suns in the 2016 NBA Draft came into the season out of shape, and even past the season’s halfway point, interim coach Jay Triano admitted he’s still not 100 percent there.

This seems suspect. This must be a leak from Chriss' camp as I imagine the argument had to be a bit more intense than this to suspend him, but it seems in general that they hate his attitude.

Charlotte sent their 2020 and 2021 2nd rd picks. Market for Willie was not strong. Considering the Clips re-signed Lou, it seems like there are not a lot of buyers and teams are hoarding picks. The fait accompli of a Warriors championship I think is really suppressing the trade market.
