From Steve Kyler FWIW:

For what it’s worth, seems the Phoenix Suns are looking at deals involving Marquese Chriss. Several teams seem to be involved, with the Lakers being considered the Favorites.

I don't usually trust Kyler's "rumors." However, I wonder what they are looking for in return if it were true.

I don't either (hence the FWIW), but Pincus said it would make sense as Chriss was a Landmark client before Pelinka moved to the Lakers and the Suns/Chriss relationship is seriously strained.

Will make it even harder for the Pels to make the playoffs. We went from a lock to this :(

Yeah, I was just trying to think if the Clippers staying in might make the Jazz blink and cash out on guys like Hood while they can, but if you were Utah, who would you bet on being 9/10, yourself or 2 of Clippers/Pels/Nuggets/Blazers?

Knicks GM Scott Perry says the club is waiving Johnny O’Bryant, who was acquired in the Willy Hernangomez trade.

I'd rather keep the Okafor/Diallo combo going. Brook Lopez is probably the only buyout big where the talent level is worth stunting Diallo's development.

Magic number to me is 43 wins. Really need that all star break. Get Mirotic adjusted and Hill back. AD has to be the alpha.

The Clippers are seeking a first-round pick to surrender Avery Bradley, who just arrived in LA via last week's Blake Griffin blockbuster

El o el. The Clippers are delusional if they think they’ll get a first round pick for Bradley and his one year deal.

And the Spurs are worse than Vlade if he goes for it

The Clippers and Cavaliers continue to discuss the possibility of a trade centered on DeAndre Jordan, including conversations with potential third teams to help create a pathway to a deal, league sources tell ESPN.

I'm not saying they won't still be a threat, but the Clippers seem to still be looking for ways to bow out. Hopefully DJ to Cleveland happens, he fixes their defense and keeps LeBron in the East.

Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn 1 minute ago One team that could play immense part in dictating final hours of trade deadline: Denver. They're active on several fronts, including trying to acquire Tyreke Evans, move Emmanuel Mudiay and Wilson Chandler, and use pick to incentivize a team to take on Kenneth Faried’s contract.

Can Mudiay play defense?

It's not like we need a true PG, at least in the future with Cousins back, that can create offense or anything. Just play good defense, hit an open shot, don't turn it over.

His shooting stats seems to have gotten better in each of his first 3 seasons, and they are actually pretty good this year. For some reason i remember hearing he has very little bball iq. Not sure what they want for him, but i'm sure it isn't Ajinca. It would have to be Dante and Diallo or Clark, and that would leave us with even less of a bench.

I would like to take a flyer on him though, for the right price, more so than with someone like Elfrid.

The Pelicans trade deadline chatter seems to be at a whisper. Doesn't sound like we are actively trying to do anything.

Am I missing something here, why would you give up Green for Bradley?

They're both 3&D guys, except Green is a better defender with size no? Bradley can handle the ball a little better, but Green is as consistent a shooter and defender, if not better, and only costs 10mil (PO next year too).

Unless they're thinking Green is gonna walk next yer?

I think if a guys making over $10M next year, and he has a PO, and he isn't some $20M+ guy, then he's opting IN. Don't think there's enough cap space around for free agents to move teams and sign deals over the MLE.
It's just not the year to opt out of a contract unless you are absolutely sure you are going to get more money, and the list of guys that are sure, are pretty short.

Going by stats only, the answer is he's a significant negative on the defensive end. Last ranked PG in DRPM this season, 99th out of 99. 70th out of 78 the year before.

On/Off DRtg for Denver
2017-18 110.9 On 105.7 Off
2016-17 112.3 On 109.5 Off

Considering he'll make $4.2 million next year, I'm not sure I'd take him for free as part of an Ajinca dump. If I did I'd have to know I had a team lined up that wanted him and would take him off my hands without sending salary back if it didn't work out.

Agreed, which is why I find it kind of weird. It isn't like green doesn't give them positive minutes, he plays like 26?

Maybe it's to clear the cap space? Idk

I don't expect a flurry of activity from the #Pelicans at today's deadline.

The main priorities, per various sources, appear to be moving Dante Cunningham and Alexis Ajinca, while adding some depth in the process.

I don't think the Spurs have any intention of trading Green and a 1st. It was just a leak about a potential construction fo a trade maybe to make giving up a 1st for Bradley not seem so bad.
