It was quoting Crewz so it was related to him and implied. Simmer down over there.

If you don't like the way he talks to you then just ignore it. Derailing threads is usually an unintentional team effort. Unless you have a really funny insult, nobody wants to see 2 anonymous strangers bicker like old ladies.
I could live with that. O'Quinn is cheap center depth that you could maybe keep long term and Jack actually looked like a creator guard we could use in the 2 minutes he played here last year before he got injured.

Great for me would looks something like
Asik, Ajinca, first for Mirotic
Jameer, Allen, and Diallo for Jack and O'Quinn (use trade exception for one of them)
Bring back Liggins

I don’t mind the guy and have always appreciated any insight he brings to the board. But his high and mighty Schtick and trying to down talk everyone that asks simple questions that he deems below him is ridiculous. If you don’t like the question, then don’t answer!
Anyway, back to actual trade talk....sorry to derail.

Yeah that works for me. I think Jack is an upgrade from Nelson and I think O'Quinn can bring the rebounding and toughness inside that we need.

We need some good news today

Do not fold, Dell. Make them take Frenchy, too, or no deal.

so i've been out of the loop a bit. what's the consensus here:
are the Pels playing hardball or did ownership balk at picking up MIrotic's option?

People have stopped melting so I guess they've come around to hardball, but to me it was obvious from the start. The idea that being stuck with Mirotic's contract was worse or as bad of a situation as being stuck with Asik's contract was absurd. I couldn't even argue the "what if he gets hurt" angle because in many ways Mirotic has a better contract to stretch than Asik.
There also is the fact that Chicago has enough cap space to take a straight Asik dump and then they could flip Mirotic to Utah for 2nds. which would seem like a reasonable compromise if next year's tax is that big of a concern.

Dinwiddie has way more value than that. Think of lesser guards for an expiring/future 2nd or Diallo package. Like a Jarrett Jack type

I don't think it gets done today unless Dell caves. Bulls have no reason to jump on the worse version of the deal. Maybe they do on the 7th or 8th, but no reason to right now

He is in semi serious to serious talks with 6-8 teams. A lot of possibilities. Things aren't as linear as insiders portray them to be on Twitter

A sincere thanks you. That is what I was going for!

What I don't get is why even use this ridiculous narrative about the option? If you want Anjiica involved in the trade for cap purposes, then just say Anjiica & Asik or I take my 1st elsewhere.
Why would Dell say that we would make the trade of just Asik for Mirotic if he will agreew to be traded without picking up his option? Now maybe that is false and the option is not the hold up, but multiple sources have reported trouble with the option. Unless he absolutley knew Mirotic would not and will not agree, then it seems like a rather cavalier gamble on a pretty significant move.

In general you don't hear anything about the Pels working on a trade from the Pels until after it happens. Even though Kushner usually has team sources, I have to wonder if that's the case this time.

Again, I'm curious about Kushner's source on this one, but if it is the Pels maybe the answer is because they know Mirotic is not going to throw away his guaranteed money? "If Mirotic was more flexible then maybe we could get a deal done, but he's standing hard and fast on that condition so I guess you're going to have to take Ajinca too." Blaming the cheap owner for not taking Chicago's reasonable offer is car salesman 101 "Let me go speak to my manager".

I know Fun Bunch thinks he'll get paid as a FA, but I looked at the list of teams with more than $12 million in easy to get cap space next year and Dallas is the only one I come up with as a team that would throw money at him, and he would only get that offer if they whiffed on other targets first. I think he'd likely be looking at the $8.5 million MLE, which he can get next year after he makes another $12.5. Free Agents like Cunningham got burned hoping for greener grass last year, I'd be pretty reluctant to give up guaranteed money if I was in the NBA middle class right now.
