If we wanted Tyreke Evans, then why did we trade away Tyreke Evans? Kings didn't even keep him on the roster

MM came up with a Tyreke and Jaymichael Green for our Asik package. I'd do that. Tyreke can give you the offensive punch you need this year and leave, and Green helps now and fits as a 3rd big next year.

Keith Pompey @PompeyOnSixers about 29 minutes ago Source confirms #Sixers are interested in Tyreke Evans, but adds #Celtics, #Cavaliers, #Pelicans, #Thunder, #Heat & #Rockets have all contacted the #Grizzlies about the Chester native. "It going to come to a team giving them what they want," the source said. They want a 1-rounder
Straight. Gas.

Again, I'm curious about Kushner's source on this one, but if it is the Pels maybe the answer is because they know Mirotic is not going to throw away his guaranteed money? "If Mirotic was more flexible then maybe we could get a deal done, but he's standing hard and fast on that condition so I guess you're going to have to take Ajinca too." Blaming the cheap owner for not taking Chicago's reasonable offer is car salesman 101 "Let me go speak to my manager".
I get the tactic, but it is horribly transparent and relies on knowing that Mirotic would not agree to a trade without the option being picked up beforehand which considering Niko's desire to get away from the Bulls seems like an unecessary gamble unless Dell had inside info from Niko's agent (and was willing to risk tampering charges).
I would typically write it off as BS if it was just from Chicago beat guys, but Kushner and national guys seemed to confirm it. So I have to believe we are putting out this narrative.
For me the posturing is just unecessary and unproductive. We have other irons in the fire. Simply tell Chicago no deal without Anjiica or we go elsewhere. No artifice needed. Why feed a narrative that the owner is cheap and only wants a rental when you know AD is going to read/see it and the national media is going to use it for more AD to Boston articles?

Uh, because we got demarcus cousins

The trade was about the pick and Buddy Hield. Tyreke wasn't retained or traded, so what value did he add to the Cousins trade?

Mirotic and his agent are working with the Pels and against the Bulls on this one.
They are helping Dell if you stand back and look at it. All the Bulls gotta do is accept Ajinca and this deal gets done and Dell is fine with the second year

Probably the fact that he was an expiring.

Nets, Grizzlies, Hawks, Bulls, Hornets, Magic, Kings, and at least 1-2 more all on Dell's speed dial right now.
A deal, perhaps multiple deals, will get done.
Please let Dell pull off the hail Mary two years in a row and we end up with Kemba.

Sure, but you could have thrown in anyone for salary purposes. Why throw in a guy that you value?

That's fine. I get Mirotic has no love for Gar-Pax. It eliminates the gamble of Mirotic agreeing to be traded without the option if Dell actually had some back channel to them.
However, does this little trick with the option really garner us anything in negotiations? Bulls are going to accept Anjica or not. So unless Dell feels this deceit is needed for the Bulls to believe he would walk away fromt he deal without Anjiica being involved, then it does not seem to be worth the negative press that will be used to undermine the Pels with AD.

Dunno, maybe kings had plans to resign him and he didn't want to play for a dumbass owner.

If we are doing that deal, I would want an Ennis for TA swap thrown in also.

Btw tyreke is having a career year.
.458 fg%, which ties his career best
39.2% from 3. Also best
eFG% of .526. Career best
Averaging 19 5 and 5.

Negotiations are extremely complex. Twitter insiders make them seem to simple.
I offer this. You offer that. Yes or no.
That's not even close to how it goes down. If you saw the board in Dell's office right now of all the possibilities, you guys would faint

Complex negotiations are not foreign to me. They are part of my everyday work. I understand the nuances of negotiating and the myriad tactics of gaining leverage. I specifically question the tactic of spreading a narrative that your franchise is cheap from a benefit/risk calculation considering there is already an ongoing longterm PR campaign by a certain team to poach your star player.
