Not sure, nobody is signed yet, so they could always try some of the signing wizardry where you file a Parsons trade before filing the Asik trade, which is signing your own player. Isn't that how the Cavs are dealing with LeBonk?

Ryno + Douglas NG contract would work I would thing. (Edit: Nope)
This is all academic though as that shite isn't happening.

why not just parsons for gordon, straight up?
mavs can buyout gordon or just let him expire

Parsons wouldn't fetch more than Gordon + 1st?
Posted on 7/8/15 at 2:59 pm to TigerinATL
He definitely would. If he's on the open market there would be plenty of suitors. Only thing is he is basically an expiring as well since he has a PO after this year, right? So he's opting out.

Right, so that might limit his trade value some.

i would not think anyone would trade more than an expiring player & a pick for parsons unless they had an agreement that he would either opt in or re-sign

Does anybody really believe Cuban was doing anything more than just running his mouth with the talk of them tanking? I don't believe that for a second.
Dallas has been swinging for homeruns in the offseason for years and failed every time. They finally hit one, and Cuban claims he would've tanked if they hadn't. Blah. He likes the attention. As long as Dirk is on that team, they aren't gonna blow it up.

And this CBA makes extensions worthless so he won't agree to that with anyone. I think if he was a good fit and the team was willing to max him out he'd stay. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with him being our max wing. He's nice and all, but he's no superstar.

I do.

Dirk wasn't that good last season. Without Deandre and no really good FAs left, Dallas is going to struggle to make the playoffs next season. Boston owns their pick unless it's in the top 7. Matthews + Parsons + Dirk are good enough to help Dallas miss the playoffs AND lose their pick. Quite a few Dallas fans on TD and RealGM are hoping that Dirk retires if they lose Jordan. They know it's best for their future, and Cuban probably does too.

The Clippers' interference isn't a violation of any league rule, and no action would be taken against the organization if Jordan changed his mind, another league source said. But such a flip-flop would violate the spirit of the moratorium period, when executives and agents make deals totaling tens of millions and expect both sides to keep their word. Free-agent commitments during the moratorium also trigger a domino effect of other deals as teams clear salary-cap room for players they've agreed to deals with and those that missed out on free-agent targets make deals with other players.
"It would undermine the whole premise of the system and the ability of parties to get together shake hands and rely on it," one prominent agent told CBSSports.com. "It would be anarchy."
However, it wouldn't be unprecedented. In 2009, free agent Hedo Turkoglu backed out of a commitment to sign with the Portland Trail Blazers and instead decided to complete a deal with the Toronto Raptors as part of a four-team sign-and-trade. The following July, Turkoglu was traded to the Suns and then back to his previous team, the Magic, in December 2010.

So nothing can be done. And honestly with the way Ballmer saved the league from an embarassing situation while simultaneously raising team values, I don't think many owners would be quick to join in a fight against him.

Dirk has been in decline since they won the championship. They were in the same spot last offseason and the offseason before, when they could've started the rebuild and didn't do it.
Its sounds interesting for Cuban to say he would've tanked, in hindsight, but I don't believe him at all. He could've done it any of the past couple seasons.
He's got too much loyalty to Dirk, too good a coach and too much money not to think he can buy himself an 8th seed.
If it wasn't Deandre, it would've been another Monta Ellis-type deal to put off a rebuild, just like he's done in the past.

Dirk took a big paycut to stay in Dallas with the impression that it would help them compete. He may not be interested in fighting his arse off for the 8 seed. Most teams competing for a title this season are pretty set at PF, but a Terrance Jones or Motie + salary filler for Dirk would make sense for both teams. Dallas gets a younger PF with potential that they control in 16/17, Houston gets a little better, and Dirk finishes his career with a team that could win a title (though they're longshots, they would be the worst of 6 teams with a chance).

Dirk's next stop is Shark Tank or some other Cuban enterprise.
Posted on 7/8/15 at 5:21 pm to THRILLHO
Sure, that makes sense, but thats Hinkie-level IDGAF about players, stuff. Emotions actually exist in most organizations.
Dirk took a paycut to win in Dallas, however delusional it may be at this point. Just as Wade was never leaving Miami, Duncan never leaving San Antonio, Dirk's never leaving Dallas at this point.

All of that is pretty much what I was saying. If Cuban wants to tank but Dirk wants to finish his career with Dallas, then that's what's happening. But
they're obviously not winning anytime soon if they lose Jordan. Dirk may prefer to have one last shot at a title elsewhere, in which case Houston makes sense. They're the only team that could possibly win a title this season that I could see Dirk finishing games for.

Holiday's bro to the Hawks. May have made a solid 5th guard for us at the min.

Sonny Weems was a pretty good player when he left to go to Europe a few years back....Does his addition mean the end of PJ Tucker in PHX?
Do it Pels. Do it.

S&T Babbitt + Douglas? Save some money and get a stretch 4 for when they trade Morris? They have to have better offers than that though. Cole?
Posted on 7/8/15 at 6:59 pm to TigerinATL
I was thinking Cole, but not sure how that works since he hasn't signed his QO. I would be fine with that though since it would allow Reke to exclusively back up the guard position. Tucker could be a SF for us exclusively with QPon mixing it up at the 2/3.
Regardless, I have to figure that the Suns would like to let TJ Warren get more minutes at the three. He was really good for a rookie last season and they'll be fighting for the 8 seed, so it would make sense to free up minutes for him.
