So Cuban said that they would have tanked if they hadn't gotten Jordan. Boston owns Dallas's top 7 protected pick, so they'd have to tank HARD. Would anyone be interested in going after Parsons? Gordon and a protected first works financially but feels like too little. Gordon + a protected first + QPon feels like too much given that Parsons is likely opting out next offseason.

DAJ going to the Mavs is better for us.

His leaving makes the Clips MUCH worse, but doesn't make the Mavs that much better.

Are they Mavs a playoff team without DJ?

I would actually argue the opposite. Clippers are still a playoff team without DeAndre. Mavs without him are lottery bound.

I am not sure they are one WITH him. They are basically the Trailblazers minus Lillard.

The Clippers have literally no backup plan and absolutely no way to get a starting Center. They are fricked there, and DJ is a big part of what they do. He's like the only guy on that team that rebounds and plays D.

On the other hand, he'll be good on the Mavs, but he's not some juggernaught that will make them some crazy force to be reckoned with.

So why would we want the Mavs in the lottery? Many believe DJ and Wes Matthews is a combo deal. If they get neither, they're hoping into tank mode.

It adds another Western Conference title contender for the next 3 years. This would improve the chances that the Pels make the playoffs this season, but makes it tougher to advance deep into the playoffs and win a title in the near future.

And the Mavs' first round pick next year goes to Boston if they finish outside of the top 7.

You answered it yourself bro. That's another playoff team out along with the Blazers.

We can make the playoffs even if they have Jordan and Matthews. I'd rather them not have a chance of getting, say, Ben Simmons.

I think that they'll need to let Matthews renege and dump Parsons to get in the Simmons conversation. I'd hope that we at least make a call to see what Parsons would cost us if Jordan goes back to LAC.

Would have to S&T Asik, trade Gordon or combination of others to make that work even if Dallas is under the cap so we don't hit the hard cap, correct?

To take back Parsons's salary, we'd have to send out ~$10.4m+. Gordon, Reke, Jrue, or Asik alone work. Ryno would need to be coupled with another player.
