If you're a professional athlete and want to know how to get AN ENTIRE city who you haven't even played for hate you...just ask DeAndre Jordan.

I'm thinking that the Pels want KJ, but Rockets will match anything that the Pels can offer outright (either the BAE or whatever is remaining from the MLE post Dante). Pels could offer QPon's great deal (and sure thing solid rotational play) in a S&T. Could be good for both teams. Rockets get a sure thing while they compete and Pels get higher potential when AD nears his peak in 3 or 4 years.

Rockets won't have the cap space to match the largest offer the Pelicans can make without waiving someone. Will need to use part of MLE.

So, what are the chances they use part of their MLE?
Rockets looking at help for their team at any other positions?

McDaniels barely played for them last year. If they can't match the remainder of our MLE, I don't think any sort of S&T is necessary to get him.

Watch KJ highlights from philly and get lots of Kleenex

Looks like we'll be 4th at worst in the SW

Good thing is it opens a higher playoff spot. Bad news is if they tank.

1 year deal for the minimum. I wish the Pels could have made that happen, but can't blame him for choosing a decent deal in the East. At least it gives us hopes that there may be players of his caliber willing to take a chance on a similar deal to hit FA next year.

$1.4M for Gerald Green. What a steal.
Pels should have been all over that.

blazers about to sign enes kanter to an offer sheet...will force OKC's hand as they are only 2.5MM under the tax

Zach Lowe ?@ZachLowe_NBA 4m4 minutes ago OKC is just about $2.5M under the tax, so a max deal for Kanter would cost them nearly $40M.

Zach Lowe ?@ZachLowe_NBA 3m3 minutes ago OKC will likely match, + then look to deal Novak/Augustin/PJII for $0. But POR is forcing their hand. Lots of teams were rooting for this.
