I think he has negative value. They are getting some kind of picks from GS I believe.

Poole sucks

a 2030 first rounder and a second in '27 is basically a salary dump for GS

Poole is one of the worst contracts in the league. I am blown away the Wizards took him like that and have no idea what is going on over there.

The got future picks, one of which is around the time Curry, Klay, and Draymond all will likely be long gone.

They also have Poole, who has the ability to score a lot of points on a TERRIBLE team.

After a year or two they can likely get value for him in another trade.

even if they were going to be shitty first round picks they should've still been able to get one or two from Phoenix for Beal

he has been every playoffs he's been in.
They were stupid to give him that much money.

Well he's going to the Wiz so he won't have to worry about playoff performances anymore.

For reference on how quick GM’s will trade players after talking highly about them and being with them, the new GS GM was just saying the other day how he was looking forward to having Poole in a Warriors uniform for years to come.

With that said, I don’t understand the fit with Steph and CP3

They took on four years and $128 million!!! And got a 2027 second round pick and protected 2030 first. They could have actually saved money by letting Chris go. This is legit one of the worst trades in quite some time, and this coming from a team that virtually gave away their best two players.

Jordan Poole must be a real pain in the arse to fall out of favor so quickly after being put in such a sympathetic position.

he has a huge contract and was unplayable in the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if this one play was enough for the Warriors to be done with him. LINK

They have to pay someone and aren't going to be FA players due to their market.

Poole's contract permits them to have an expiring when it will be more valuable to them than when CP3s contract is expiring.

Just like how GS had to give Poole the contract to have the salary to deal (regardless if he was worth it).

You do not HAVE to take on $128 million in a contract. Poole is a negative player. He can’t be played in the playoffs because he isn’t good. He’s the anti any winning player. Think Jaxon Hayes in a guards body, but with an even bigger thirst for jacking up shots.

His “good” regular season was him at 43% from the field and 33% from three(over 15 shots a game), turning the ball over and shooting instead of passing to wide open Steph Curry’s, all while being a black hole on defense.

This is brutal

These are either good or don't matter to the Wiz right now.

You think WAS imagines they're making the playoffs anytime soon?

And he can be played in the playoffs, just not by a contender. WAS won't be a contender during the entirety of his deal.

Again, that salary is going somewhere. You think CP3 would make some huge difference in their hypothetical playoff scenarios?

Ultimately, they do, though.

They have to hit the salary floor so they have to spend that money somewhere (hint: it won't be on an elite FA)

I love what the Wiz have done so far. They were stuck in no man's land with big contracts that most didn't want. They shed quite a bit and have some young nice pieces now. The Jones/Poole backcourt is going to surprise some people. They are going to retain Kuzma. They have some money to spend and pick #8.

It's a playin team in the East IMO. Kuzma and Poole are going to be 20+ppg guys. Nice reset..

I heard they were going to mix it up, with one if the big 4 going out, maybe 2. There have been some rumors around Garland too..
