LeBron out with ankle injury. Aww

Jazz are up 11 on the Lakers with 4 minutes left. I just watched the Jazz hunt Austin Reaves and repeatedly drive at him and get Reaves three quick fouls and foul him out of the game.
With no LeBron, losing Reaves is critical for the Lakers offense. As we know only too well, Davis can't create shots for himself very well.
This is a key game, because a win will put the Jazz above the Lakers and solidly in the #9 slot, while the Lakers will drop into #11, a full game behind Houston.

The Jazz are legit. They keep that team together, they are going to make some noise this year. Hardy is a really good coach.

Davis is 5-21 from the floor tonight, with 5 turnovers.
EDIT: Jazz win. They are looking more and more like a playoff team. Just a few weeks ago, everyone assumed that they would be big sellers at the deadline -- now, they look like they should be buyers. This makes five straight wins for them, and they are 9-2 in their last 11.

Grizzlies say Desmond Bane has a Grade 3 left ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
Do they even have enough guys left to put a team on the court?
Edit: Well they do, barely

Jacob Gilyard (two-way)
GG Jackson (two-way)
Luke Kennard
John Konchar
David Roddy
Xavier Tillman Sr.
Ziaire Williams
Vince Williams Jr.
That's it. That's the whole list.

Lakers will beat Thunder. Everyone raves about the Thunder but they have one major flaw- thats lack of size and rebounding. Its how we beat them early in the season as well.

Wemby last 8 games:
24 minutes per game
23.8 ppg
9.4 rbg
3.4 apg
3.6 blocks per game
54.4% FG%
On a per 36 just for context, that's 35.5/14/5 with 5.4 blocks

If he can stay healthy he's going to be a problem for everyone. His fluidity at his size is crazy. He looks like a high schooler playing against middle schoolers.

If they get a point guard worth a damn, they'll be scary.
I saw how uncoordinated sochan was yesterday, and he's one of their main ball handlers.

Watchin' Nuggets vs 76ers...I assume at least one of the teams will play some D eventually.

Nope but Embiid has been nuts.

Larry's brother get a 10-day with the Cavs.
quote:
The Cleveland Cavaliers are signing F/C Pete Nance on a 10-day contract, sources tell ESPN. Nance has averaged 13.5 points and 7.9 rebounds for Cavs’ G League affiliate. He went undrafted in 2023 after spending his final college season at UNC.
Nice story for a hometown kid: Nance grew up in the Cleveland-area, and becomes the third in his family — including Larry and Larry Jr. — to play for Cavs.
