Luka was about as bad as one can be on defense specifically in the playoffs, and yet, made the Finals.

I’ve debunked every single one of these asinine assumptions before, but guess I will do it again.
quote:

He is so bad defensively that Atlanta built a team around him with defensive guys and still can't even cover him up.

He became almost a neutral defender this past season and has improved every year. He also was top 10 in steals in the league before getting injured. Trae is bad on defense, but not as bad as people like you think he is.
quote:

He's a bad offensive chucker who's extremely inefficient, for a "shooter" he only averages 35% from 3 for his career. As the primary ball handler has a 2:1 ast/to ratio.

Yeah, you’ll have that when you’re the primary focus of a team’s defense, Trae is constantly double teamed and still goes off, who else besides Zion can do that? And also, you can’t double team both trae and Z.

Also, Trae has a 2.5/1 assist to turnover ratio, better than Steph, Lebron and Luka.

I still think that a Murray trade is more likely than a trade for Trae.

But if we do trade for Trae, then we absolutely have to keep Herb to cover Trae's defensive deficiencies. And we really need to keep Dyson too, because Trae and Herb won't always have their minutes aligned.

Trading away Herb to get Trae would just be replicating the Bucks' mistake in giving away Jrue to get Dame. We can't do that.

I have seen a lot of Hawks fans say Trae gets way too much hate for his defense and that he’s actually made strides in that department. They even went as far as to say Trae is underrated on defense and Murray is vastly overrated.

Is any of that true? Idk.

I guess all that talk that they wouldn’t deal him wasn’t true.

And for everyone saying Ingram won’t fetch four picks, Bridges just fetched 5 and a swap, and Ingram and Bridges are pretty much same value wise.

If we have to unload the war chest like that, I want someone like Mitchell not Bridges. I wonder if OG or Hartenstein is gone now

Also bring Mitchell Robinson back home if he’s available

Ingram and Bridges are on the same level as players, they both will get overpaid on their next contract and neither one can be a #1 on a team, even though BI actually had a little more success than Bridges at it. Mikal plays more games, thats it

I think OG gone for sure but Mikal is better than OG. I like Mikal but Im not sure if this makes the Knicks contenders??
