I’d offer Utah 2 unprotected 1’sts and 2 swaps and just get a Kesslertrade done. We need a big body for Jokic, Embiid, Wemby, Jonas, Sabonis, Sengun, Dallas’s 2 bigs,etc
Our picks should be in the high teens/20’s. I doubt the swaps ever convey and if they do, it won’t be extreme. Utah is going nowhere soon in a stacked west.

OG didn’t get a max…
Knicks were also in a different position with OG, they just traded two good role players for him and he was about to leave for nothing, so they had no choice but to overpay him as they couldn’t replace him.

His dad is going to be the highest paid assistant coach. I think his wife works for the Knicks too.

He also can probably make a decent amount with local endorsement deals being the leader on a good Knicks team.

And Griffin should laugh even harder.
The Knicks were 20-3 with OG in the lineup. He is the perfect fit for them, and even better with Bridges.
Ingram is the complete opposite for the Pelicans.
Several teams were willing to max OG. Zero teams are willing to pay Ingram more than the Pelicans are already offering.

Our biggest hole is center. If we fill that hole, I think we are actually a contender. As I outlined. We need a legit big, even if it means overpaying for one

I think they got DJ to help break up Ingrams hold on this team look how Zion looked in that press conference unfortunately griff and Willie couldn't do it I bet our new dog will.
If they keep Ingram he's gonna split the team up in some sort of negative way or he gets on board and we roll

Do we though? Way before this situation got to where it is now with Ingram I thought a possible solution to the Pels looming cap issue was to go cheap at center. Just three serviceable guys who will hustle, defend and board. Save your money and spend it on the guys who will close the games and play in crunch time.
I think some of this debate really comes down to how important you think a top flight center is in the modern NBA? Zion is our interior scorer. We just need bigs who can defend, rebound and not clog up the lane...

I really just think there are so many elite and nearly elite centers in the league that we will be toast if we go small ball and/or heavy mins to Theis and Missi. If Jokic, Embiid, Wemby, Sengun, Dallas bigs, Giannis, Sabonis, Kat/Gobert/Naz, Chet/Hartenstein,Porz, etc weren’t such threats on our competition then I’d maybe be willing to gamble until the trade deadline.
IMO we got Murray for a steal. So while it’s not ideal, I’m okay overpaying for a center. We still potentially could move BI to get picks back as well. And CJ might actually become an asset as soon as this trade deadline as well.
Tempt Ainge w swaps and then go be an actual contender to the point where Griff and the fanbase can be laughing about the swaps in May and June.

I'm not quite sure how that is useful other than maybe adding a player that would technically violate the Apron if the 2nd round contract were officially on the books? Essentially using order of operations chicanery to violate the Apron? But you still have to get under it by the end of the year I would think.

Funny that just a couple of days ago, Shamit was crapping on people on X who were saying they hope Karlo can earn a spot on the roster. He acted as if those people clearly did not know basketball as he said Karlo was not an NBA player and that it was clear.

I guess that all depends on your priorities and lifestyle. For me at 27 living my most lavish life, being guaranteed $156.5M over the next 4 years with an estimated net worth of roughly $20M today would probably set me up for life.
Turning down an additional $113M would be difficult, but if I thought just taking the $156 would result in a legit chance at multiple titles, I’d probably do it.

Does anyone have a clue how to compare The (former) Yugoslavian aba or eurocup to American basketball?
Could those teams compete against g-league? March madness college basketball? NIT? Hopefully not high school?
If you look at Karlo’s international stats he looks like a dude who is very efficient offensively and blocks like everything on the other end. I just have no idea how that compares to the basketball I know

I mean his career per 36 over there is 19/9 with a steal and 3 blocks a game. There’s no way he does that, but anything resembling it, even if just for shall stretches, would be incredible
