Willie lets BI do what BI wants. That wouldn’t fly under Alvin or SVG. As long as Willie keeps coddling him and doesn’t put his foot down, you will see the same BI you’ve seen the last three years.
Agreed but part of that is also Griff. SVG held BI accountable but we fired him. I honestly think Griff has ruined BI’s development as a player. If BI was on a better organization with a better gm/coach he would be a much better player. He would be held accountable and challenged. This organization has fired coaches and then coddled him after the suns playoff series.

While I agree, the Center position is probably the least important position in today's game compared to wings and point guard. We've seen the impact that not having a table-setting PG had on this team last season during clutch time, and Griff did a great job of solving that at the expense of the center position. To be clear, I'm not saying the center position doesn't matter. Center is the one position where there are less than a handful of absolute star guys, and then there is a big drop-off in talent and expected productivity.
This is where I’ve been at the last few years, you’d don’t need a star at center, just a solid defensive guy that can slow the Jokic s and Embiids down some.
But yiu are correct that center is the least valuable position now. It’ll be a nice pivot to not sink costs into the position. I’d love to get someone like time lord to fill out the rotation.
Im curious to see a close out lineup with Murray Herb BI Trey and Zion on the court at the same time. I think we could get away with that against most teams.

How about Norm, tucker, bones a 1st rounder and a 2nd for BI?

Pelicans are most assuredly paying the tax this season, I don’t see any way to shed money unless we make a lopsided BI trade before the start of the season
And this board is somehow not celebrating! There should be dancing in the streets. It looks like we are finally going to pay tax! Maybe we aren't a poverty franchise after all.

We are not paying the tax because this team is extremely loaded and will become a top 3 team in the NBA; we’re paying the tax because Griffin fricked up and needs a NBA rotation center.

But we ARE loaded! We just took all the actual talent on last year's team and added a PG who's a borderline all-star!
Some of our best lineups last season were the small-ball ones, and we played them more and more as we got late in the season.
The current roster is top-3 in the West. It's going to be such a fun season.

Zion, Trey, Herb, and Jose are all still improving. That should make us better. BI will be in a much better role and will be much more efficient. Hawk will have to get more minutes, which most of the board wanted, and his defense should be much better anyway.
With a svelte, healthy Zion, we're a top-3 team in the West. Why aren't more of you excited?
It's as though some of you hate BI so much that you wish we'd dumped him for Murray, instead of getting Murray while still keeping BI. When everyone thought BI was gone, y'all talked yourselves into hating him and now can't adjust the hate.

We lost Naji, Dyson, JV and Nance. We added Dejounte Theis and Missi. I like Dejounte but we lost a lot of defense and rebounding.

Please name the teams we’re better than in the west?

Many also can't conceive of him playing differently when he's already played differently his first 2 years here when he took over 6 3s a game.

Break it down and tell me how Hawk or Trey gets more minutes if we keep BI and add Dejounte? Dejounte will and should take a huge chunk of minutes as will BI, Herb and CJ. It’ll be the same as last year- willie will play Jose over Hawkins.

Name the west teams that we’re ahead of.
No one is hating BI but there just isn’t enough minutes to go around and the fit is extremely clunky. And Griff knows this why hes trying his hardest to trade him. Keeping him is not a bonus, its just we’re stuck with him because his value is just low.

But he hasn’t the last 3 years under the same head coach and his style. You can blame Willie but hes not going anywhere next year.

OKC has a better roster than US, and I obviously have to count Dallas as better, but I think that we're better than every other team in the West. Minnesota is the only actual debate.
Anyone who thinks that we're worse than 4th is just a hater.
This forum is supposed to be for Pels fans. Instead, it's full of people who hate New Orleans more than the national idiots like Stephen A.

You think we’re better than the nuggets? Does dejounte put us over a healthy grizz rockets and lakers teams which we struggled with last year? Wolves are better than us and its not a debate.
People here are realistic not just hyping up their team. Its a fan forum not a cheerleader squad.

It's insane. Last year, we tried making BI a principal ball handler. It didn't work. So, we're going back to putting him in the role that made him league MIP and an all-star.
And this board is 100% convinced that BI is a ball hog who won't adjust his role, even though BI said in the exact words at the end of the season that "it would be helpful" for his role to change by Griff doing exactly what he did in getting Dejounte.
This board is nuts.

Yes. They got worse this off-season.

With end-of-season Zion, we were already better than those teams. Now, we are much better.

Nope. Are they better than last season? I don't think so, while we got a lot better.

You honestly think the Lakers will have the same luck with lebron and AD staying as healthy as they did last year? And a year older? And the people they were trying to get didn’t work out. They barely made the play in.
I’m preparing my anus for that pick to hit the top 4 this year.

He should just wear a LeBron jersey and change his username.
