Why not? F IT, Give everybody extensions. Nothing could ever go wrong cause these contracts always have value and never go negative. We could trade them anytime.. just look at all those people lining up to take Graham and Temple. No such thing as a negative contract.
Imagine naming every team decision where you the only thing you factor is worst case scenario

You are right. You guys claim to love these players. They are the ones you want. Yet, you are happy they signed deals now. Why?

They were not FAs. They could not leave. We could of had them on expirings, in prove it mode. Now they are set.

So, what is the upside? You say, well we are saving money by doing it now. So, you are happy that a player you like is going to make less?

“Prove it” deals are a two way street.

I bet the Hornets wished they had Miles Bridges on a team friendly deal. Him being on a “prove it” would have meant a gigantic contract for him if he hadn’t screwed it up.

Him screwing it up screwed the Hornets on another end, as they had to renounce him rather than have him under contract despite his legal woes.

The other problem with a “prove it” deal is that the next contract is based on the available cap at the time and not based on what we have now.

If the cap is expected to majorly spike, locking them up now means more space because the numbers are set already.

People are such prisoners of the moment. Another needless extension. Honestly. Who are we bidding against? If Nance was a FA right now, nobody would give him 10M a year. Nobody. There are only a couple teams with that much space. I don't get it..

I’d be the first to tell you if it was an overpay or not.

This is a very good value deal. Better value than CJ’s in fact.

Steven Adams signs a 2/25.2M

We got the better deal by far

Nance was such an underrated part of that CJ trade

When I saw we got him I pulled like a 120 (didn't have to do a 180). I was worried we gave up a godfather package for just CJ.

This statement makes sense... how exactly?

You quite literally do not not understand how this works.

So just let them go after they expire? What if they do prove it, then what? Pay them a shite ton more?

So, what is the upside?
I've explained this to you multiple times with each extension, you refuse to consume what I've told you.

Why would I want them to make more? What kind of sense does that make?

The cap spike has been explained to him probably 20 times. He's never responded to it. He's willfully ignorant.

You should have seen him with the last cap spike. It took him like 2 years to accept that anything over $6 million (the old MLE) wasn't a huge overpay for non max players.

It seems like every "point" you attempt to make, you talk out of both sides of your mouth to try and prove your point. Your shtick is too obvious.

Is it? How so?

You think it is a great deal, cause the cap is going to spike, so Nance will be on a team friendly deal. Which means he would be making less than he should be. Right?

So how is that a good deal for him?

He’s never played more than 67 games in a season. He’s an injury prone player that gets guaranteed money. Pels get a player they like and with the depth they have he doesn’t have to be an Ironman as long as the injury isn’t in the playoffs.

First of all, you are making up what I think as I have not posted anything about it. Secondly, you are arguing it is bad from Pelicans and from Nance. That is talking out of both sides of your mouth. You always try to find the bad in just about every thing that the team or player does. That is indicative of a troll.
