Is Jeff VG.

He's been coy with his answers when questioned about the New Orleans HC position. Definitely not saying he's comfortable where he is with the TV gig.

IMO if Benson is willing to pay up he could have JVG, I think Jeff is excited about the possibility of coaching AD and taking him to the next level. Question is, How much $$. I don't thing Benson could/should pay what JVG is making on TV so how much is JVG willing to come down?

Who knows if it happens but I just have a feeling that it's there for the taking.

Short of that I'm in the Mike Malone corner.

But part of me is eyeing Patrick Ewing, It could be his time.

Another guy I'll probably get flamed for adding is Mike D'Antonio. HE might just be the best coach for the current team we have assembled. His fast paced offense might be deadly in New Orleans. (Flame Away lol)

I don't think JVG can be dismissed as a candidate. In some ways he's the opposite of Monty philosophically in that he says "give me offensively skilled players and I'll coach them up on defense" and Monty wanted defensive players to coach up on offense. I'm sure both want 2 way players, but when they can't all be 2 way players it was clear Monty valued defense first.

But JVG doesn't come without negatives. In a podcast last week he immediately refuted Zach Lowe's assertion that there hadn't been much success for one person being both the coach and GM. If he wants total control then it will be a short interview with Demps. Also, the 2 regular season games he covered the Pels he didn't like the roster. Without directly saying it he pretty much said "Playoffs?! I couldn't even coach this team to the playoffs." Rapid roster change is expensive and we have no more spare assets. If he wants more than tweaks it will be a 1 step forward 2 steps back situation.

Yeah, but he should be fully recovered now or very soon. Thankfully we wouldn't be asking him to guard Steph Curry.

He retired from the NBA because of heart problems. But this was a planned surgery. He knew years ago that he had to have this one.

Patrick Ewing has no business being an NBA head coach. The first time he's ever been a high level assistant is with the Bobcats/Hornets, and that simply hasn't gone that well.
