I've heard others say that we should start Trey over Herb too, I just don't get it. They said after the trade we need more shooting. Why? We replace BI in the starting lineup with DJ, you're already getting more shooting from that trade.

maybe Capela was low on the list of desired centers coming back but Griff is finding other options like Kessler too expensive.

I really hope not. Clearly way better than the alternative but damn.

I agree. My bigger argumemt earlier in this thread was that Herb/ Trey will get all SF and some PF minutes, not many SG.

I think the reasoning is because of our current bench.

If we start with high powered offense (knowing DJ can gaurd top teams players) it allows us to have Hawk/ Herb come in with less pressure.

You put in Hawk/ Trey off the bench and you could go up by 20 or go down by 20 real fast.

Hawk and Herb? Up by 20 or wash.

You also can't play CJ/ Hawk together and I really don't like a Jose/ Hawk lineup without Herb. And obviously if Jose is in then Murray wouldn't.

Even if you take Trey out of the equation it 100% makes more sense to start CJ > Herb knowing the rest of our bench and how Murray needs to compliment CJ.

No it doesn’t make 100% sense. Probably doesn’t make 10% more sense to bench Herb.

Herb is not coming off the bench. That’s not even a thought in any coaches mind.

If this is true, Spurs and Hornets added to the interest.

Willie valuing defense so highly has finally paid off. It would be incredibly stupid to bench the lone plus defensively from the starting lineup last season. The only question is if CJ or Trey comes off the bench, I'm hoping for the former.

Would love Mark Williams but who else does Charlotte have to make the salaries work? Don't want Miles Bridges anywhere near this team.

Officially official

I’m over my meltdown at the start of the thread, it’s a good deal for us, although I would have preferred Trae, Murray was my second on the wish list

It’s a great trade. People are going to focus on the BI trade shite show, but this move was huge.

Too bad that protection was not on the 2025 pick.
