Many of us aren't truly mad about the hire, at least in a vacuum. He's not a "bad" coach. He's not a "championship" level coach.
I'll put it this way...I remember when we hired Willie some wanted Mosley instead as he was a top assistant with Dallas at the time.
What he did "consistently" in Orlando is what we wanted Willie to do here which means the last four years, in a nutshell, are a waste in terms of general organizational growth. We all know that.
He gets you from the bottom to the middle but doesn't get you to the top. Maybe, in that sense, it's a good hire. But it's boring. It's uninspiring to a fanbase that is hungry for a consistent winner.

You can't just point to the good, you have to take the whole.
He's not a top 15 coach. He's a below average NBA coach. I see zero reason to be excited about hiring a coach we all know is a below avg NBA head coach.
