Wasn't he pretty good on defense? And he's at a position of serious need for us. And still young. Think it was a good gamble esp with two probable high 2nds coming back. This was about a good a trade as we could hope for honestly. Woulda preferred Fultz for Mirotic but guess it wasn't available.

Stanley needs to learn how to shoot.
If he can't do that, he won't be in the league much longer after his rookie deal ends next year.

He just needs to use his athleticism to score. All we need from him is dunking, layups, and hustle. Don’t understand how a guy that athletic consistently averages under 40%. It’s kind of mind blowing.

If this is what they got for Niko and they pulled the trigger then that means they either thought he was going to leave anyway or they'd have to grossly over pay to keep him. Basically this is Ryno all over again except this time they took the bag of chips someone offered for him.

Exactly he at least fills a position of need and at worst he can help with the tanking if he still sucks shooting

Johnson Vs Kawhi

He looks to be a pretty good defender.. If he develops a consistent shot, could be a gem to go along with Kenny Hustle at the wing

If the Celtics can get to the Finals without AD, why would they trade off any assets to get him?

To win an NBA championship?

his qualifying offer is only like 5MM
give him that, let him test out RFA

nobody is gonna throw out an unpalatable offer sheet

his issue is that he takes 1/2 his shots from 3 but only makes 28% of them

I'm hoping we can recreate Johnson offensively and help him live up to his potential. He's a terrible 3pt shooter, yet over 50% of his shots this year are coming from beyond the arc.

I am definitely for holding onto a 22 year old that can guard Kawhi, KD, & LeBron. I mean isn't that why we paid Solomon Hill $12 mil/yr?

Good trade. Mirotic was going to walk at the end of the season, anyway. Even though I'm not wild about second rounders you can sometimes find a gem or role player and the more you have the better.

Also nice that he was sent to another small market team. Good for the league overall to keep small market teams competitive.

Detroit hasn't really developed any of their young talent. Guys kinda broke out after leaving there (Knight/Middleton/Dinwiddie). Hellenson busted and the jury is still out on Kennard

Hopefully Stan follows the trend
