IF we trade the 4, I'm with you on Hayes if we drop back to 8.

Also, with the news of Gallinari being on the block, I'd look to him as a player to absorb into our space. His ability to stretch the floor with our starting lineup would be great. Let Ingram come off the bench with the greenlight to score.

Include Hill or Moore in the trade to ATL and let them keep the future BKN pick

NO In: 8, 17
ATL In: 4, Hill or Moore

NO In: Gallinari, (maybe snag the future PHI or MIA 1st if they are really eager to get 2 max slot)
LAC In: Future 2nd

Find a way to trade into the late 1st round to get Windler.

Draft:
8: Hayes
17: Okeke
27: Windler

Sign:
Collison
Dedmon

Go into the season with:
Lonzo, Collison
Jrue, Frank/Windler
Gallinari, Ingram/Windler
Zion, KWill/Woods
Dedmon, Hayes/Woods

That’s bc everyone is looking at the draft trying to value the players relative to our needs. For our needs I agree that list is a nightmare for us, but bc other teams aren’t us I agree it’s unlikely it shakes out like that.

absolutely not. He's not a bench guy. He's a starter we are trying to groom into being an allstar, not Lou Williams.

Ingram is the centerpiece of this trade, not the #4 pick.

I don't think I said #4 is the centerpiece.

Does he have to be a starter to be a centerpiece? Let him get 30 minutes off the bench this first year back from the clot issue and he regains his confidence and play from late last year. Playing against 2nd unites could be good too. Gallinari is off the books next year and you make him your "centerpiece" then.

Starer/bench.. who cares in this first year. He gets his minutes. You could close with Ball, Jrue, Gallinari, Ingram, Zion.

Here is what I hope happens:

Scenario 1 - All the Garland smoke is true and RJ or Ja drop to us at 4. We do not hesitate to take either.

Scenario 2 - Trade #4 to the Suns for #6 and TJ Warren. Suns get their PG in Garland and we pick up a talented wing for dropping back. I would then package #6, SoLo, and a second to Indiana for Myles Turner and #18.

Ha. I wish.
Indiana likely to give you the middle finger on that one.

The way this off-season has gone for us, Ja is dropping to 4.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if we came away with Ja

I might go streaking outside the restaurant

Remember the theories about trading AD to the Knicks for #2 if they got it? Their stupidity would still get the pels Ja

YES!

this isn't his first year, and yes he cares. Telling him to come off the bench is a sure fire way to piss him off immediately.
You're idea is take a kid who was averaging 27 ppg after the allstar break before his shoulder issue, in his 3rd year in the league, where he has gotten better each year, who was just the centerpiece in one of the biggest trades in nba history, and tell him to sit behind Danillo fricking Gallinari? He's not going to like that, at all.
He doesn't need to be coddled. He's a starter, and he's likely to be our main closer for the foreseeable future, i hope.

You’d be lucky to get Indiana’s 2nd round pick with that deal.

I want him to be the centerpiece just as much as you. I'll concede that he most likely wouldn't like it either. My thought is recovery and attempting to get some shooting on this team while maintaining flexibility to sign Ingram next year. Gallinari seemed like a fit with that group. Lonzo, Jrue, Ingram, Zion is lacking that outside threat.

I'd prefer to keep the pick, but if we did trade I wouldn't mind getting Myles Turner for it, that'd give us some serious length and size

Im torn on trade vs keep. If we keep it, I trust in Langdon to identify the BPA. Garland, Culver, Hunter, I don't know.

A lot of smoke around trading that 4th pick but Griffin is proving he's a master at this. Drive up the demand until you get what you're looking for.

Okay...time for my educated guess on what happens with 4....

Hawks get 4 and E Moore

Cavs get 10, Solo, and Bazemore

Pels get: 8 (Reddish or Culver), K Love, 2020 Nets pick and future Cavs pick

Hopefully his educated guess is way off. That would be a terrible trade for the Pelicans. We should not be taking on Cleveland's terrible decision to extent the injury prone declining 30 year old for $120 million over the next 4 years.
