I agree that's why I added a future asset in there. Whether that's a future first or Alex Len or both for that matter

Still not enough. If they are going from 8 to 4, they need to send us additional assets and/or take on our bad contracts, not the other way around.

fair enough, I mean if we can get more great, I just typically try to lean more realistic to probably too realistic when I come up with trade ideas

This seems super unlikely. It seems like the teams who would want to get to #4 would most likely want Garland. He seems to be the guy teams are highest on outside the top four. Phoenix seems almost certain to take Coby White. They apparently rate him higher than Garland.

Atlanta will almost certainly take reddish if they get to 4

Reddish or Hunter. Some think the Reddish talk is a smoke screen and that they really like Hunter.

I wouldn't mind an Atlanta deal, assuming we are high on Jaxson Hayes. I'd want 8 or 10, then 2020 first, as well as a player, i guess Alex Len.

Just throwing it out there, not sure if i even like it, but
#4 and Lonzo/Solo for Covington, Saric, #11, 2020 1st.
i think Minny would be interested in moving up from #11 just not sure what they would be willing to give up, or what we would want.

I mean that's the risk you run trading down. But worst case scenario, Ill take the kid from France at 8 and Hayes at 10.

I think it's a nice gamble

I really like Jaxson Hayes, his defensive upside is out of this world. If he finds a shot, he could be absolutely unstoppable

I heard #4 for Covington & #11. I am definitely not opposed to that either. I'm not big on Saric tbh

Lonzo, Ingram nor Hart will be able to be traded with other players for 60 or 90 days, so you can forget these kind of deals

For me, I would do 8, 17 for 4 with Atlanta taking Hill back

That's about all I would really care for unless Chicago wants to do a #4 for Markannen deal

I really like Jaxson Hayes. If we move down in the draft, it should be to a spot where we can get him.

I wouldn't do a trade with Minny unless Hayes fell to 11, which is very unlikely considering most say Hayes isn't getting past ATL, but i would love to get Covington.

The AD trade isn't official yet. It would just get tacked on to that trade.

Bingo.

If the AD trade is finalized on July 6, I think we still have another week or so in which we can send out those same players and have it counted as a non-simultaneous trade.

Or longer than that if the Lakers swing a deal to make the trade finalize on July 30.

Atlanta will almost certainly take reddish if they get to 4

This is what im thinking. That is why they want to do the trade. This can work but i would rather trade with PHX and have them add TJ warren to drop back.

No way we get Gordon or Turner for 4.

if what you're saying is true, then I definitely want to trade back to #8. I go back and forth on Garland/White/Hunter/Culver and one of those would be available. and again if I could get Hayes too, I'm so in.

I tend to agree on not getting Gordon or Turner for #4. All depends on how their teams value them

The scouting reports really don’t indicate any one of those guys as being head and shoulders above the rest.

After reading that coupled with everything else I know about the prospects listed, it would seem that whoever among them has the best work ethic will develop into the best NBA player. Talent and potential are there for all of them.

So who has the best work ethic out of the bunch?

If there’s a clear answer, take that guy at 4. If not, try to trade back.

I’d rather a player and pick than 2 picks if we do trade back.

I agree with the premise. I would rather actual players. Problem is who is available that is worth the 4th pick?

if you can find me one then make the trade. but I just don't see anyone out there. Again I'd do it for Myles Turner or Aaron Gordon but idk if they could be had

Garland but would not be surprised to see Chicago or Suns jump ahead of the Pels.

Little history on the last 10 years, since we are heavily looking at trading back with Atlanta.

#4 dating back to 2012
2009 Tyreke
2010 Wesley Johnson
2011 Tristan Thompson
2012 Dion Waters
2013 Cody Zeller
2014 Aaron Gordon
2015 Porzingis
2016 Dragan Bender
2017 Josh Jackson
2018 Jaren Jackson

Whole lot of meh in there.

A few good players from 9-13 dating back to 2009
2009 DeRozan #9
2010 Hayward #9 Paul George #10
2011 Kemba #9 Klay #11
2012 Drummond #9
2013 McCollum #10 Steven Adams #12
2014 Lavine #13
2015 Myles Turner #11 Booker #13
2016 Poltl #9 Sabonis #11
2017 Donovan Mitchell #13
2018 SGA #11

Point here is there's obviously some really good players that we can get at 8 or 10, or even 11. Seems to be really boom or bust in that area. You either get a really good player, or a dud.

Member how I said if you could find a guy worth trading the 4th pick? May I present Shams most recent article that dropped 30 mins ago

quote:

Griffin has been open to moving the No. 4 overall pick, and one player league executives believe the Pelicans are monitoring in a potential trade is Washington Wizards All-Star Bradley Beal, sources said. But Wizards interim president Tommy Sheppard is running the Washington front office as of now, and the franchise has been adamant for months that it hopes to build around Beal.

Even if Washington remains firm on holding onto Beal right now, I’d ask Washington who they’d take at 4 and then check back in with the Wiz at the deadline.
