That really doesn't take into fact that reke was a monster after starting.

I'd argue if Jrue/Tyreke/some SF/AD/Ajinca(or Withey) had started all year we'd have 45 wins or so.

It's injuries+monty

Injuries are an excuse...for Monty. With all of the injuries, we shouldn't have won many more games than we did.

However, HOW Monty utilized the talent he had and managed the games was abysmal. He isn't a good coach.

I think that's what pisses me off the most about Monty. No one can argue that the injuries impacted the W/L record, but he kept putting dumb combos on the floor that didn't work. When he found a lineup that did work, he abandoned it. It was stupid anyway you want to slice it.

I think there is a major riff between Monty and Demps for the personnel that Demps gave him to work with and he was determined to shite can the season to prove a point. Could he have gone to the playoffs with the roster he had? Most probably not. Could he have won more games by being smarter with lineups and rotations? Absolutely.

Well obviously we now how good Tyreke/AD/Jrue are.

Ajinca and withey both turned into quality bigs and should started a long time ago over steamshit.

There's also the aminu issue...

Rivers playing pretty damn well himself and morrow is clutch.

We wouldn't have struggled for the first half of the season with spacing and starting afa/steam

It's just common sense really.

Agree with all your points, and I think the team finishes damn near .500 if guys like Rivers/Morrow/Miller/Withey/Ajinca/Babbitt get minutes over Roberts/AFA/Steamer who would ideally do nothing but warm seats on the bench.

I didn't catch too many of the Pelicans games, but I wasn't impressed. One particular game I remember against the Spurs, he benched Morrow for the last 5 or so minutes when he had the hot hand and was clearly our best scorer. Even my SO, who doesn't watch any sports, asked why the coach benched him. That's not a good sign.

His rotation rules are actually pretty simple.

Rule #1: Humble Veterans > Arrogant Youngsters
Rule #2: Defense > Offense
Rule #3: Rebounding > Shooting and Spacing

I think in his mind, he thinks his defensive rotations can hold opponents to 70pts and his team can score 71.

This. He always finds a way to bench the hot hand, holds them out for 5-10 minutes (game time), and then inserts them back in.

It makes no sense

Morrow is one of the worst defenders in the league. If it was a close game, that could be why

Let's just fast forward through this year, so that for 15-16 we have a real coach.

So it took you 2 months to come up with this response? Why bump this old thread?
