We had the 1st and 4th picks of that draft. Plus we had Ingram (diminished value due to health), Ball, Holiday and a ton of cap space to make even more moves. My head spins for all the possibilities we could of had that off-season.

I've said before, I would have flipped the whole roster. Stockpiled picks for years, had 3-4 lottery picks that year, resigned Randle and went on a huge shopping spree. Plus a young coach to install an upbeat culture for all the youth. What might have been..

The team should be dissolved.

The Pelicans are where talented young players go to die

I would've handled that offseason differently also, I would have tried harder for #2 to take Morant (no way Grizzlies pass up Ball, #4 and a future 1st or 2 right?)

I also still keep Jrue, trade off everyone else, and build around Morant, Ingram and Zion, trade Jrue at the deadline.

Yeah, Hayes played great defense and sparked a run in the first half that got us back into the game. He played well.

More specifically he shut down a few KAT drives. Kira needs to go to the g league.

I do want to go on record and say this is Griffs fault too for not trading JJ when he asked to be traded and ride with Kira. A few more games last year would've given us more answers sooner about him.

I remember hearing a lot of "He's a bust" or "wasted pick" stuff directed towards Jaxson Hayes once upon a time.
Well I mean….jury’s still out on that one too tbh

Cole Anthony with a cool 29-16-8 stat line in New York carrying his team to a win.

Really starting to look like the Pels took the lone bust point guard available to them. Seeing as Anthony, Maxey, Quickly, and Pritchard all look like keepers and Kira looks unplayable.

I was on record for getting Tatum and Brown or moving whatever assets we had to give up to the Grizz to draft Morant.

Griff should’ve been taking on bad contracts for extra firsts instead of doing what he did.

Great to say, but the other team has to agree. Boston was not giving up Tatum and Brown and Griffin threw a bunch at Memphis and they were not giving up Morant. So, we can say that is what we would have done, but the other teams have to actually agree to it.

Kira will be good. He still has only one speed and it’s straight line. He needs to learn gears and moving at angles.

I actually think Brown was gettable before 2019 draft or that offseason. He’d been benched and the Cs were hot for Holiday. But Griff designated Jrue as the face of the franchise and a future league MVP, so that never went anywhere…

Kira with another scorcher of a game tonight

0-3, 2 assists and no turnovers. Huge improvement over last nights 0-2, 2 assists and 4 turnovers

Burning it up baby

Throwing Ball and a few firsts isn’t a lot. You think Memphis turns down 80% of the package we got for AD? Griff didn’t offer that.

Yes. The goal of all of those picks is to get someone of Morant's caliber. Maybe they get a Zion with those picks, but it's more likely they get another Morant at best and set themselves back a few years while they wait for him.

Rumor was he included all of the picks we got from the Lakers.

I could certainly see us getting Brown in the AD trade, but not both Tatum and Brown as suggested.

They already said it, brown was the offer. We wanted Tatum, they said no. Much less getting both.

Plenty of teams tried to get that morant pick.

my opinion is that Memphis was thrilled with getting #2 and was not going to be convinced by any offer to trade off of morant. Which...was the right move then and certainly borne out by his play

he has flaws for sure but he is a stone killer. They got their lillard and he will be their alpha as long as he wants to be

We also had a fraud of a GM that should never have been hired to begin with. Everybody thought he walked on water for trades for 2nd and Late 1st round picks. The guy is a POS GM that is clueless.
