The fans need this. Griff and the Pels do not.

I think you’re overvaluing Sabonis.

How does dumping BI for some role players help us get a center later? A dollar is always more valuable than four quarters.
Dude, do y’all not know how these things work?
Team A calls Team B for Team B’s player. Team B tells team A go get this guy using your assets and I’ll trade you said player, but I also want these other assets from you.
Team A then starts calling around the league attempting to get said player with their assets, while Team B also calls around the league offering the trade assets to grab his guy(s).
It’s not that you go get that center later, you work out a deal with Team A and B, then get Team C involved, then Team D jumps in, etc etc.
99% of the time you only hear about Team A and B negotiating, you never hear about team C and D until the trade is done

Keon Ellis is another good player maybe worth trying to pull in. Fans love him, great defender and good 3 pt threat. Signed for two more years at $2 million a piece.

Actually sounds like we are in agreement.

I agree. Some posters want to play checkers instead of chess. If you don’t trust Griff, I can completely understand. But the last trade should give him some more pieces on the board. He has the next move in mind and I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt. I mean, people were calling him every name in the book because he didn’t make a trade prior to, or during the draft. We can now see why. Let’s wait for the checkmate.
ETA: I’ve never actually played chess and am not sure if that analogy is correct, but I think my main point still stands.

Griff cannot make that Sacramento trade without the next trade in place. It would almost have to be a three team trade.
The thing is you don’t do the trade until that next trade is in place. Basically how it works is you agree to a deal with Sacramento contingent on being able to use those pieces for another deal. Then you work on that deal while the GM of Sacramento is also working on getting that player you want. There’s steps to these things, its not always straightforward

So just like GOP said, I am now pretty sure we are saying the same thing and are in agreement.

Correct. Saying all that to say just because someone posts a deal doesn’t mean the deal stops there, everyone should take a step back and look at possibilities to where that deal will take you.
Say the Sacramento deal would end up:
Out: Ingram, Jose
In: Huerter, Carter, Allen, 3 pick swaps
That would be a good deal right? Or you could take a different path if you want to save some of those assets.

Don’t think Carter would be included.

A nice little “Hawk Tuah” goes a long way too.

I see people saying this, but I don’t understand why. Before the draft they would have thrown the 13th pick into the trade without hesitation, just because it’s post draft doesn’t mean that pick is no longer on the table. If Pels want Carter then Carter would be included.

Fox putting pressure on the franchise to sign someone should help us squeeze some more assets out of them. Plus them having a real shot at winning their division this season. 5 picks!

I saw on some website we had the highest gambling odds to land Ayton
Posted on 6/30/24 at 7:51 pm to WaydownSouth
Outside of money, Ayton fits. I just don’t know if we will be able to protect the rim at all
Posted on 6/30/24 at 7:54 pm to GOP_Tiger
Don’t like that contract though
